Being a Tarot reader myself, I hate writing about this. But every now and then I feel like the topic should be revisited.
Some psychic readers are frauds, downright lying criminals. Those that are, know who they are, and they should be very ashamed.
Using the occult, or anything, to scam people, especially in times of grief and vulnerability, is disgusting.
Fortunately, these criminals are pretty easy to identify. They’re not particularly imaginative, and have been using the same tired old tricks forever.
If you’re getting a psychic reading of any kind, be it tarot, palm, akashic records, auras, chakras, crystal balls, the other side … whatever, watch for these three red flags:
1) The reader tells you that you or your loved ones have been cursed, and that the reader knows how to remove that curse.
Typically removal involves actions like buying a crystal, giving your money or jewelry over to the reader for ‘cleansing’, having candles burned for you by holy people, etc. Don’t do it.
2) The reader tells you that there are dark forces around you against which you need protection.
Similar to the curse scenario, the reader is likely to try to sell you something, or ask you for your money or expensive items for ‘cleansing’. Again, don’t fall for it.
3) The reader tells you that they can unite, or reunite you with your loved ones.
A reader cannot make your ex-lover come back to you, or reunite you with a family member, or make someone fall in love with you, or do anything that you know already to be impossible.
It doesn’t matter how much you pay them. It will never ever happen. They are not magic. They are con-artists.
The video below shows a recent example of a psychic con-artist in Indiana. There’s absolutely nothing new about this story, it plays out all the time.
But it doesn’t have to be like that. Readings can be fantastic experiences providing comfort, clarity and positive direction.
They shouldn’t leave you feeling frightened, more confused than you were before the reading, or like you’ve just discovered a secret club with all the answers.
If you’re being promised the moon, or terrified by threats of curses, you’re dealing with a scammer. Don’t let them intimidate you with fear, or lure you in with false hope.
Do some research before getting a reading and ask around.
And if you’re really curious, get yourself a Tarot deck and start playing.
You’ll learn pretty fast how psychic energy works, and be far less likely to fall for the tricks of a con-artist reader.

Empress as the Moon
Venus moved into Pisces today and stays there until Thursday, April 21st.
If you look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it’s like the Empress is dressed as the Moon. She’s all but disappeared in the night.
The Empress is love, empathy and compassion. She feels, nurtures and provides.
In open welcome, she invites everyone to her table in celebration of life’s bounty. All pains are commemorated and all happinesses rejoiced.
The Empress is the mother of the world. She’s femininity at its most creative and most obvious. At her best, she’s bright, sweet and always there to help.
The Moon is also feminine, but she’s dark, sometimes even frightening. Psychic visions, powerful dreams, the deepest of our unconscious rising to the surface.
It’s hard to feel safe when it’s dark all around. Instincts kick in and defenses go up.
The Moon asks you to feel, intuit, move with the rhythms of the tides. Breathe in, breathe out, and don’t get swamped.
The Empress is not uncomfortable here, though she doesn’t like her children to be afraid. She knows that it’s in the damp darkness that gestation occurs. Without it there is no life.
Venus in Pisces, or the Empress dressed as the Moon, is a good time to embrace your own unconscious depths.
Nurture your psychic energies through art, poetry or creative visualizations.
And try not to be afraid. Feelings that are usually expressed out loud might be less open than usual. That doesn’t mean they’re any less deep.
There’s as much beauty in the dark as there is in the light. It’s just not flashy. Dive into the mysteries and enjoy what you can never know for sure.

7 of Cups
Are you having a hard time making a decision, maybe trouble moving forward? Are you blaming yourself and everybody else for your emotional problems? It might be a little tough right now but don’t give up. Try to pull yourself together and start making some choices. Don’t waste your time worrying about what anyone else is doing. Concentrate instead on getting a grip on yourself.
What do you really want next? Think about it clearly and with as much focus as you can muster. Once you finally choose, it’s going to be a lot easier. Wallowing in misery or hiding in whatever escape you feel most comfortable in won’t help for much longer. In fact, it’s likely to bring you down instead. Pull up those boot straps and decide what’s next.
The only real way to feel better is to start taking action. So snap out of it and get moving, you’ve got lots to do.
