High Priestess in Star's Clothing

High Priestess in Star's Clothing

The Moon moved into Aquarius today and stays there until Wednesday.

Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be the High Priestess dressed as the Star. In other words, her robes are gone and she’s naked as the bird in the tree behind her.

The High Priestess sits in front of the veil that protects the mysteries. She is wise and silent.

Though compassion is one of her gifts, she’s hardly what you’d call effusive. Her love is expressed through intellect and understanding. She’s very serious.

The High Priestess wants us to learn through listening. And she’s not one to soften the message. Sometimes the world is beautiful and sometime’s it’s cruel. She’ll tell you either way.

The Star is also about compassion. But she expresses it sweetly, softly and without shame. She’s thrown off her robes, has nothing to hide.

For her, hope is what matters and she pours it down from the heavens like water into a pool. The Star understands the reality of pain, and seeks to heal it with her optimism.

Though the night is long and sometimes frightening, she’s there to comfort both sinners and saints. No one should be alone.

The High Priestess admires the Star’s style, but she herself is a little uncomfortable in this position. Her robes and veil serve as protection. She isn’t happy feeling this exposed.

The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.

Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.

Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.

Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.

#5 – The Hierophant

Spiritual questions and tradition are highlighted during this period.  It’s probably important to you now to look carefully at the spiritual structures in your life.  Why do you believe what you do?  Who are your spiritual authorities and what gives them their legitimacy?  Who decides issues of morality for you, your family and/or your community?

Many of these questions are answered with cultural traditions. Today, you’ll probably be examining whether or not the answers you’re accustomed to are still satisfactory.  They might be or they might not be.  Don’t be afraid to seek out your truth simply because it rubs against your comfort zone.  Sometimes growth hurts a bit.

You might be asked to judge someone else’s dispute, or find the need to go to an authority for answers yourself.  Keep your mind open, but your skepticism on.  Ultimately, you’re the only one who can decide whether something makes sense for your life or not.
