This coming Thursday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be announcing nominations for the 85th Academy Awards.
In honour of the event, it seems appropriate to unveil another card from the Tarot deck Ivan Minsloff and I have been working on.
It’s #15, The Devil, who in our deck is a film director.
Not only does he control the show, it’s easy to become addicted to the fantasy worlds he creates.

The moon moves into Scorpio today and stays there until Tuesday.
If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.
The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.
If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.
This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.
You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.

#18 – The Moon
Things might seem a little dark today but don’t despair. It’s always night before it’s day. The moon card represents this darkness before dawn.
You might be challenged to face your fears, or at least name them so you can see whether they’re really as powerful as all that. Things often seem a lot scarier in the dark than they do the next day.
Try taking some time today to really explore those things that you usually shy away from. Psychic energy is especially strong and it will be well worth your while to find some silence and listen carefully to your inner voice.
Secrets and mystery, hazy half-truths – they’re all part of the moon’s power. How you feel might prove to be more informative than what you see. Pay attention to the shadows, it’ll be light soon.
