The other day, I was looking at the 9 of Cups card from the Rider Waite Smith deck and wondered why the red-hatted man had so many cups.
I pulled another card from the deck to see what it thought and got the 2 of Cups. Hmmmm… it looks to me as if the nine cups on display might be mementos of love shared.
Though the red-hatted man is sitting alone in his card (and of course as a 9, he’s connected to the Hermit who’s always alone to a certain degree), he’s not at all lonely. His soul is full up with all the love he’s had in his life, and he’s ready to share again if someone drops by.
