Year of the Dragon

Happy New Year!!

It’s the Year of the Dragon, specifically the Year of the Water Dragon.

In Chinese Astrology, the Dragon represents strength, dynamic energy, and inspired leadership. It’s a burning creative force, powerful and intense.

Looking at it from a Tarot perspective, the Dragon sounds a lot like the Emperor who is also full of fire, passion, and a drive to manifest a world of his own.

Adding water to fiery energies as big as these doesn’t squelch them. It just brings them down to a more manageable level, and infuses a little compassion into the mix.

The Water Dragon is more open to emotional exchange and energetic relationship building than some of the other Dragons. And his leadership style is one of benevolence and goodwill.

You might think of him as the Emperor focusing his attention on the suit of Cups. He’s as sure of himself as ever, just more open to the flow than usual.

This new Dragon Year might be wonderful, with spirit and passion being inspired by love. I wish everyone the very best.
