10 of Disks

You may have more physical prosperity than you thought.  Look around and see the support that’s there.

It’s likely that the money or physical support or whatever it is you need is at hand and that those who said they were behind you really are.

Trust your family and loved ones, they really do have your back and were never going to let you fall.

Open yourself to abundance and you might be surprised at how much is there for you.

And when you prosper, don’t forget to be generous.  No one ever does it all on their own (even when we think we do).  We all need each other, and it’s through sharing that we discover our true wealth.

Moon in Scorpio – High Priestess in Death's Clothes

March 21st, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

The High Priestess in Death's ClothesThe moon moves into Scorpio today at 3:17 pm EST and stays there until Wednesday, March 23rd at 4:07 pm.

If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.

The High Priestess represents receptive wisdom and reflective emotionality. She learns through wide open perception, and feels by reflecting the feelings of those around her.

She sees the world as it is, awesome in both beauty and cruelty. And understands that life flows, is cyclical like the tides.

One day you’re an acorn, another a tree, and finally the ashes where the new seed lands.

The High Priestess is okay with it all. Since life is what interests her, all parts are sacred and worthy of contemplation. Being heavy, doesn’t scare her.

And that’s a good thing when she’s dressed as Death. There’s nothing light about those clothes.

Death in the Tarot describes the process of decomposition, the decay of what once was, into the fertile soil that incubates what’s to grow.

Death isn’t concerned with good or bad, left or right, green or purple. It takes it all down. Whatever’s run its course is open game for transformation.

The High Priestess is comfortable in this environment. She can cope with deep feelings and isn’t frightened by a little pain.

Compassionate detachment and emotional depth allow her to grow when the big changes take place.

The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.

If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.

This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.

You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.

#0 – The Fool

This is a great day to take the leap and do something different.  It might seem crazy and you have no idea how it’s going to turn out, or maybe even how you got on this path in the first place, but here you are.  It’s time for you to make your move and do so without fear.

The Fool card isn’t telling you to be an idiot, but rather to stop double thinking yourself all the time and worrying that every single thing is in order before you can make a move.  Life isn’t really that logical.  There is no way to prepare for all eventualities, no matter how smart you are.  Do what you can and let the universe take care of the bigger story.

Fortune-Telling Law Updates …

Some follow-ups in fortune-telling legal news …

It looks like the 38 year-old ban on fortune-telling in Carroll County, Maryland is about to end.

Last week, the repeal measure won approval from the Senate and House of Delegates.

It’s next step is to be reviewed by Governor Martin O’Malley.

Since the Maryland Court of Appeals ruled last year that bans on fortune-telling businesses violate the First Amendment, such laws have been facing opposition across the country.

Harford County, Maryland repealed its 31-year old prohibition just last week.

And Meridian County, Mississippi is likely to follow suit.

The City Attorney’s office has been asked to draw up a repeal motion to be presented to Council in April.

And in Pompano, Florida, City Council is considering changing their law to allow fortune-telling businesses to operate in the general business districts.

Presently, such establishments are relegated to light-medium industrial areas, alongside strip clubs and pet hotels.

Queen of Swords

The truth is an important commodity to you right now.  Getting through the fog and cutting out that which no longer works is a priority.

You might be feeling a little hardcore, a little less sympathetic to sob stories and other tales of woe than usual.  That’s all right.  Sometimes it’s more important to be clear than to be sweet.

Get the job done and do it with the determination, diligence and discernment that you expect from others.

Keep in mind though that the bigger picture includes compassion.  You need not be cruel or mean to be truthful and serious.

Not everyone is as tough-skinned as you are right now, so be aware of the potential effect your words might have.

Moon in Libra – High Priestess in Justice's Clothing

The High Priestess in Justice's Clothing

High Priestess as Justice

The Moon moved into Libra today at 4:03 pm EST and stays there until March 21st at 2:34 pm.

Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess wearing Justice’s clothing. She takes on the mantle of the Karmic Decider.

The High Priestess is concerned with ideas and ideals. She swims in the big picture and reflects everything around her. Her wisdom comes through observation, grand non-judgmental perception of everything flowing by and through her.

Her interest is not in what is right or wrong, but simply in what is.

She flows with the universe asking no one to excuse themselves, only to be what they are – good, bad, or somewhere in the middle.

In contrast, Justice does care about what’s good or bad. The scales she holds weigh, consider, and decide what’s right and wrong. And her sword lets us know she has the authority to carry through on the decisions she makes.

When she sees unbalance, Justice requires adjustment. Truth is indispensible and unfairness intolerable.

For the High Priestess to act as Justice, she must force herself to care about the outcome, to get down to choosing, not just sitting in the middle.

And she’s not particularly happy about it. She’d rather see both sides, not say that anyone ‘should’ or ‘should not’.

With the High Priestess as Justice, or the Moon in Libra, we might be required to face up to something and decide.

Our emotions will demand respect. If we’ve leaned too far back or forward, we’ll probably find ourselves moving just as dramatically the other way.

It can be a slightly challenging period, perhaps a little manic. But by the time it’s done, something is likely to have been decided upon.

Don’t be alarmed by conflicting emotions. They’re there because you can see both sides. It’s not good enough though to just acknowledge them and walk away.

During this transit you’re being asked to take a stand one way or another. And you’ve got the wisdom and power to do so.

#3 – The Empress

Creation and the celebration of the senses are highlighted today.  Art, food, music – anything that inspires our physical and emotional selves will inspire you and be well worth the time.

Nurture yourself and others.  It’ll probably be hard not to.  Nurturance isn’t just a luxury.  You need to maintain and even increase your strength in order to create what you’ve been working on. Eat delicious, healthy foods, surround yourself with beauty, take warm, aromatic baths . . . it’s all part of the Empress’ path to creation.

If you’ve been dealing with issues surrounding motherhood, women, or femininity in general, this would be a great day to take a closer look.  There’s wonderful energy now to help you resolve issues you might have thought irresolvable.

It’s a day to dissolve the fog and start looking at things with fresh and honest eyes.  With a commitment to clarity, new ideas and a new sense of authority will be close on the horizon.

Take things in hand and energetically start slicing through any fuzziness you’ve not wanted to look past till now.  Are you happy with what you’re seeing?  If yes – go forward with strength.  If not, figure out what you actually want, re-direct yourself towards it and go forward with strength.

In either case, you need to see things for what they really are before you can intelligently decide what your next step might be.   This is no time to fool yourself.   It’s a time to take charge, be realistic and be strong.

Four Leaf Clover Spread

March 17th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

four leaf cloverTradition has it that finding a four leaf clover is very lucky.

Not surprising really if it’s true that there’s only 1 clover in 10,000 that has four leaves instead of three.

The four leaves are said to represent faith, hope, love and luck.

In Tarot that might be like the Hierophant, the Star, the Empress and the Wheel of Fortune.

Thinking about those cards, and in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, here’s a quick Four Leaf Clover Spread.

1) Where can I use more faith in my life?

2) Where can I use some healing?

3) How might I more fully express love?

4) How can I bring good luck my way?

Good Luck to Everyone!
