Moon in Scorpio – High Priestess in Death's Clothing

April 18th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

The High Priestess in Death's ClothesThe moon moves into Scorpio today and stays there until Wednesday.

If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.

The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.

If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.

This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.

You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.

Money is probably hard to come by, while time is even more precious. Wherever you look, though, it seems like someone else is asking for more. The tendency here is to gather yourself and your resources and go off alone to think.

Go ahead and do that if you’d like, but try not to get yourself too closed off. You probably have more than you think you do. Maybe even enough to share.

If you’re being asked to spend on something that will help establish an even firmer foundation than you presently have, give it some serious thought. It might be more than you had anticipated, but the pay offs are probably well worth it.

Extravagant or foolish spending is not recommended, but remember the old adage – it takes money to make money. If you don’t put it out there, be it actual money, your physical effort or something else you consider really important, nothing’s coming back.

This is true about your emotions as well, don’t hold them too close to the chest. Be generous with your heart. Remember, you get what you give.

There’s so much to do right now you probably feel you can’t keep up.  Don’t worry –  you can.

Just keep things in motion and try to stay focused on whatever task you’re working on at each particular moment.  You’ve got more than enough energy for everything right now, try not to give up.

Emotionally things might get a little hairy, but as with your work, you’re more than able to cope.

The changes going on in your life right now are good ones. You’ve put them into motion yourself and you’ll be just fine.

Moon in Libra – High Priestess in Justice's Clothing

The High Priestess in Justice's Clothing

High Priestess as Justice

The Moon moved into Libra today, and will stay there until Monday.

Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is wearing Justice’s clothing. She takes on the mantle of the Karmic Decider.

With the High Priestess as Justice, or the Moon in Libra, we might be required to face up to something and decide.

Our emotions will demand respect. If we’ve leaned too far back or forward, we’ll probably find ourselves moving just as dramatically the other way.

It can be a slightly challenging period, perhaps a little manic. But by the time it’s done, something is likely to have been decided upon.

Don’t be alarmed by conflicting emotions. They’re there because you can see both sides. It’s not good enough though to just acknowledge them and walk away.

During this transit you’re being asked to take a stand one way or another. And you’ve got the wisdom and power to do so.

Prince of Cups

You’ll probably be feeling quite loving today.  Emotions are open and flowing and you’re getting along with everyone.

People will likely find you even more attractive than usual, and you them.  But don’t confuse that with getting serious.

Emotions may have been high lately, or at least all over the place. You might find yourself thinking a lot about what in life (and love) truly makes you happy.

It’s a good time to think about it. But don’t worry, there’s no need to make any firm commitments right now.  Just look around you and experience what life has to offer.

You’re in the process of building a new emotional maturity. Enjoy and play friendly.

And some more art …

Salvador Dalí’s fantastic Alice In Wonderland sculpture now graces the entrance of the Moor House Building in London.

It’s part of Dalí and the City, which opened this month and runs through the end of June.

The exhibit features the Alice sculpture outside, and a comprehensive indoor exhibition of graphic artworks, prints, mixed media and more sculptures.

And if that weren’t enough, the show also includes five of Dalí’s tarot cards.

Each one is a mix of collage, gouache and watercolour on board, and is signed by the master himself.

I’d be there to see the cards alone. Sounds like a brilliant show.

New energy and general enthusiasm are your gifts for today.  It’s time to start moving towards your dreams.

It might be just the beginning, but you have to start somewhere and you have the energy and passion to do it right now.  Why wait?

Look into your heart and see what makes it stand up and sing.  That’s the sign that you’re on the right track.

Be fearless and fun and see where it takes you.

Made in Montreal by Juno Youn

April 14th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

On the weekend I went to an art show by Juno Youn. It was called Made In Montreal: En considerant le monde different.

The show has no intentional connection to tarot, but as usual, I couldn’t help but see it there.

Of course there were symbols all over. It was an art show after all. But there were some pieces that especially reminded me of concepts in the cards.

These four struck me as the four suits right away. They could be the four aces in a deck.

All are untitled, I added the captions.

Disks

Untitled 2 by Juno Youn Made in Montreal

Untitled 4 by Juno Youn Made In Montreal

Wands

And this piece called, Rebirth of a Bird Man reminds me of #21, the World. Everything in the universe is in all of us.

This painting is enormous, not all of it is shown.

There were other fabulous pieces in the show, and my pictures don’t nearly do the work justice. They should be seen in person.

So if you’re in Toronto now till April 30th, stop by the De Luca Fine Art Gallery and check them out.
