The Sun
In the Tarot they’re important too, and we’ll be digging down deep to see what they have to say.

The Moon moves into Pisces today, and stays there until Tuesday.
Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Moon.
She’s lost her material body and has disappeared into the celestial body that usually rests at her feet.
The Moon in Pisces, or High Priestess dressed as the Moon, is a time of increased perception, ill-defined understanding and what might be described as night vision.
During this time you could find your dreams feel more real than your daylight hours and what’s not said is louder than what is.
Fears might grow like a boogieman under the bed, but if you just take a peek, they’re as likely to be dust bunnies as demons or ghosts.
Be still, aware and fearless. It might be dark outside, but if there was ever a time you can navigate the unknown, this is it. Listen, breathe, flow.

#11 – Strength
Learn to direct your inner wildness during this period of fiery intensity and your personal power is likely to grow. Innocence and purity work together to balance your passion with wisdom.
Explore ways to act assertively but without aggression. The gentle touch might go a lot further than a loud voice or an impetuous rage.
It’s a very creative time and you’re encouraged to allow yourself room to flourish. Don’t be shy. This is the moment to take action and move forward with plans you may have held off on until now.

The Pink Ouija
Oh no (or maybe it’s a good thing) … Ouija, the movie might not get made.
Universal Pictures has pulled the plug on the venture meant to be directed by McG and produced by Michael Bay.
Universal is apparently cutting back on high-budget films, while Hasboro the game maker, doesn’t want to do the film if it’s not done big.
Other game movies are still in the works … Clue, Monopoly, Candyland, Battleship, and even Stretch Armstrong.
But if Ouija is going to be made, it’ll have to find a new studio, one that’s not afraid of spending the cash, or messing with the spirits.

Magician as Hermit
After a return visit during the retrograde, Mercury moves back into Virgo today, and stays there until September 25.
Through the eyes of the Tarot, this transit is like the Magician is wearing the Hermit’s clothes. He’s left his garden and is trekking through the snow.
The Magician has inspirational power. He’s focused, clear, intent on his goal. And he gets others excited about it with him.
He’s a master communicator, spinning words like silk, able to convince anyone of pretty much anything.
The Magician is quick, fresh, and eager to discover where his next idea leads. If it gets dull he moves on. There are infinite possibilities, no need to get stuck in anything that doesn’t inspire.
The Hermit, on the other hand, is an old man, wise and slow. He’s not at all concerned with being quick, fresh or starting new. He’s much more interested in digging in and seeing what he’s already got.
His wisdom comes from experience, earned day by day through a long life. Nothing much surprises him. He’s seen it all, both within himself, and in the world outside.
The Hermit’s a solitary walker, though not at all unfriendly. If you’re interested in where he’s going, he’s happy to have you along.
But he won’t push, and isn’t particularly interested in convincing you of anything, except maybe to look within yourself to find what you need.
The Magician has to really slow down when he’s dressed as the Hermit, and it’s not always easy for him. But he likes the meditative atmosphere of the mountain, and is confident he’ll leave it knowing something more about himself.
Mercury in Virgo, or the Magician wearing the Hermit’s clothes, is a time of intense internal clarity. You know what you know, and can see it with fresh eyes.
It’s a good time to clear out stale old perspectives. Shine light on your inner wisdom and don’t be afraid to let others know what you’ve found.
There’s a tension now between the old and the new. Use it to dig through past ideas and experiences. Not for nostalgia’s sake, but in order to figure out what’s worthy enough to revitalize, and what might as well be discarded.

You’ve been working hard and the people that matter are starting to take notice. Take pride in doing a good job. You’re becoming a master at your trade. Mastery requires not only technical skill, but also an appreciation for the art in what you do.
When you care about your job or the tasks you’ve taken on, the work involved is rarely a chore. Look at your tasks as the creative processes they are.
Whatever you’re doing, you’re creating something, bringing something new into the world. Consider your role as creator with the seriousness it deserves.
You’re becoming very good at what you’ve been working hard on. Congratulations, keep it up.

It doesn’t give readings anymore, but this old machine is probably the most expensive fortune-teller in the world, and maybe the last of its kind.
It’s a ‘verbal’ fortune-teller, who spoke the fate of her customers rather than simply dispensing a card.
Unlike the more common Zoltar, the 100 year old Gypsy would flash her eyes, chatter her teeth, and speak fortunes from a hidden record player.
Quietly on display for years at Bob’s Place in Virginia City, Montana, the machine has recently become a hot commodity.
Magician, David Copperfield is rumoured to have offered nearly $2 million for it, as well as promising to replace it with another, and to promote Virginia City in ads.
And Theo Holstein, a California collector, is trying to gather investors to make a $3 million bid, though he admits it might ultimately be worth over $10 million.
He thinks it’s wasted where it is and believes it can only get the care it needs in a private collection.
The Gypsy is officially the property of the State of Montana, under the supervision of the Montana Heritage Commssion. At least for now, they have no intention of letting her go.
But with big cuts at the Commission, the Department of Commerce isn’t closed to the idea of selling. If the price is right, they might just consider it.
Till then though, the Gypsy sits as the centerpiece of the Gypsy Arcade, Queen of the Ghost-town. And who knows, maybe one day she’ll speak again.

High Priestess in Star's Clothing
The Moon moves into Aquarius today and stays there until Saturday.
Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Star. In other words, her robes are gone and she’s naked as the bird in the tree behind her.
The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.
Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.
Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.
Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.

Painter Francesco Clemente has turned New York City’s cultural elite into a Tarot deck.
And if you’re lucky enough to be in Florence in the next two months, you can see it at the Uffizi Gallery.
Clemente became interested in Tarot about three years ago. It inspired him to create his own deck using many of his friends as models.
To name just a few, Salman Rushdie is the King of Swords, Edward Albee the Emperor, Jasper Johns the Hierophant, and Diane von Furstenberg is Strength.
He’s made Scarlett Johansson the Queen of Swords, Fran Lebowitz Justice, and his own wife Alba the Star.
Clemente himself is in the deck twice, once as the Ace of Swords, and again as the Fool.
Each piece is about nineteen by nine and a half inches, and done in watercolor, guache, ink, pastel and colored pencil.
I bet it’s amazing!! I’d love to see all 78 pieces. And if he ever makes it an actual deck, I want one.
