Carnesky Productions, led by performance artist Marisa Carnesky, is putting together a Tarot spectacular in the Old Vic Tunnels below London’s Waterloo Station.
Contortionists, roller girls, rock stars – they’re all characters in a magical arcade dedicated to Tarot’s Major Arcana. The cards are alive!!
It’s up to you where you want to walk, what cards you want to interact with, and thus, what magical message you’ll be receiving.
It’s an interactive Tarot play!! In an amazing location.
Look what Carnesky’s Tarot Drome promises …
… a dreamlike journey taking you through giant penny arcades where slot machines and laughing police-men have been replaced by life-size characterisations from the major arcana of the Tarot Deck. You will attend a bizarre lecture where you learn that your hold on the present might not be what you thought it was. Your future is delivered to you in the form of a rock opera on skates.
Could you ask for more?
Carnesky’s Tarot Drome opens September 4th and runs through the 13th. You can get your tickets at the London 2012 Festival website.
The reckoning’s done and it’s finally time to dole out the rewards. Have you done your fair share? Are you ready to accept what’s due?
Success is coming to those who have done what they can to manifest their goals. It may seem like manna from heaven but look again – it’s more likely compensation for a job well done.
And don’t forget to thank those who have been helping you. We’re never alone in either our successes or our failures.
The moon moves into Scorpio today and stays there until Saturday.
If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.
The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.
If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.
This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.
You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.
Were you thinking of starting something new? This is the time to do it. The energy of The Magician encourages you to start fresh.
Look around – I bet you have all the tools you need for this new enterprise. It’s only up to you to start making things happen.
Name your goal and start listing the steps you need to get there. Especially important is that first step. It can be big or small – just take it! You’re at the very beginning right now, don’t let the long journey ahead dissuade you from going forward.
You can’t go back, so what the heck? Focus on what it is you want to achieve and you can make anything happen.
Beware though, don’t try fooling yourself or others, there’s no need for deception. It will only lead you down the wrong road right from the start. Stay true to your plan and keep yourself focused.
You can do what you need to without resorting to trickery or lies. It’ll work out much better in the long run if you stick to the truth.
Birthdays are like little personal New Year’s celebrations. They’re recognition of another good spin around the calendar, great times to rejoice and to reflect.
In honour of my own birthday, which happens tomorrow, I came up with a quick 3-card Tarot spread meant to explore how to best take advantage of my solar return.
It’s called the Happy Birth Day spread …
1. Happy – what’s the smoothest road to happiness for me this new year?
2. Birth – what positive new aspect of myself should I encourage to be born?
3. Day – how can I make today a fabulous and joy-filled one?
Even if it isn’t your birthday, you can try out the spread. Instead of ‘Birth’ you might insert ‘New’ and ask – what can I make new today?
Every day is an anniversary of last year. You can always find reason to enjoy, celebrate, and refresh.
Emotional renewal is the name of the game today. A new way of feeling about something and/or somebody is about to emerge. Perhaps you’re feeling it already – it’s like that first hint of spring or when a magnolia tree finally blossoms after a long cold winter.
Joy and hope are in the air and accessible to you. Throw away any gloom you’ve been dragging around and wake up to the inspiration of postive emotions. There’s a sense that anything can happen and it’s probably going to be good. Be receptive to the love that’s around you and give it back in kind.
A few years back I wrote about a website called Forgotten Books. Someone from the site recently wrote me to say that they’ve been updating so I thought I’d write about it again.
It’s pretty fabulous – over 1,000,000 books available for download. And despite the name of the site, the books might be old, but not all of them have been forgotten.
Though there’s nothing new at Forgotten Books, what’s great is that all the books are free … or at least the first 50 downloads per computer, kindle, or other reading device are.
That’s a lot of reading material. If you want even more though, membership rates or one-time download packages are quite reasonable.
For Tarot people in particular, there’s a huge esoteric section. And there are a number of titles specifically about Tarot.
