Venus moves into Libra today and will be there until November 22nd.
From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the Empress is wearing the clothes of Justice. She’s gotten tough and taken up the sword.
Venus in Libra, or the Empress in the clothes of Justice, is a time of creative realignment, a chance to lovingly balance what’s most important in our lives.
Use this period to focus on what’s working for you, especially in terms of your relationships. Not only between yourself and others, but also between yourself and the activities you engage in.
Are they leading to the results you set out for, or might this be a good time to prune back, and/or fertilize particular areas of your life’s garden.
No need to be harsh, in fact, it’s best to be gentle, but being decisive is important. With a clear mind and compassionate heart, you’ll know what you have to do next.
In Tarot, the traditional RWS Sun card shows a child riding a horse outside a stone fence surrounded by sunflowers. The child holds a flag of victory and the sun itself shines huge behind him.
The Sun represents a time of joy-filled culmination. It’s a celebration, the end of a struggle and the attainment of a goal long wished for.
When the Sun appears in a reading, freedom, exhilaration, and clarity can be yours (at least for a brief moment) as the Moon’s shadows have finally been replaced by pure light.
Check out the video below from SpaceRip called The Origin of Light.
Though it’s a scientific take on the Sun and its light, it’s as magically wonderful as any Tarot card explanation could be.
This is a great day to even things out. Balance and temperance are the energies surrounding you now. Can you bring your physical world into harmony with your emotional state?
Temperance is about that perfect mix, neither too much nor too little. It’s about becoming conscious of what you want to be both inside and out, and courageous enough to try.
You are responsible for any healing you might need. The first step is to acknowledge what might be out of balance and then start readjusting.
Sometimes it’s about finding a new way to meld your internal opposites; sometimes it’s about casting out what no longer works. In all cases though, it’s about being true to your self and connecting to the grander universe.
Try asking an angel for some help today. You might be surprised at the result.
My very favourite Halloween deck is the The Halloween Tarot by Kipling West and Karin Lee.
It’s been around since 1996, but I like it as much today as I did when I first got it.
It’s smart, fun, and the little black cat featured in every card looks just like my cat Carl JK.
Since it’s the Halloween weekend, I thought I’d ask The Halloween Tarot how best to enjoy this season of ghouls, goblins, and miniature chocolate bars.
The card I got was the King of Ghosts. Like the King of Cups in the Rider Waite Smith deck, this king sits on a slab of concrete in the middle of a big water.
Unlike the RWS King of Cups though, the King of Ghosts is not alone. He’s got a ghost friend with him, and of course the black cat who seems to be eyeing his fishbone necklace.
This king is about mature emotion, conciliation, and intelligent love. He recognizes what’s important to carry with him from the past, while looking forward with upraised glass to the future.
He’s a mediator, and someone who can be gentle, yet firm, grounded, yet emotionally fluid.
He’s concerned with enjoying life, loving those around him, and in this particular situation, putting on his bat crown, grabbing a mask and hanging out with his friends.
I believe the advice from the The Halloween Tarot is that we all do the same.
The Moon moves into Aries today and will stay there until Monday.
Translating this transit into Tarot cards, it would be like the High Priestess is wearing the Emperor’s clothing. She’s in scarlet and armor and is ready for battle.
The Moon in Aries, or High Priestess in the clothing of the Emperor, is a time of intensified emotions. You might feel an increased desire to shape your own world.
Rather than sitting back in stillness, this transit encourages the loosening of emotional restrictions and the conscious expression of enthusiasm and/or passion.
It might be uncomfortable at first, but allow yourself to speak out loud. Take steps forward to let people know what you know and what you love.
Try to remain objective and open-minded while acting with determination and direction. It might sound impossible, but you can do both if you try.
You might find yourself wanting to spend some time alone today. It’s probably a good idea. Take time to look within and see what’s up inside your soul.
Have things been moving pretty fast lately? Don’t worry, it’s finally going to slow down a bit, giving you a moment to clean house and tie up loose ends.
Trust your own experience through this period. It’s through an examination of your own personal journey that you’ll discover your inner wisdom. You probably know a lot more then you give yourself credit for. But you might need some silence to notice.
Give yourself permission to be quiet. You won’t be missing anything by taking a break. It’ll only make things more fun when you finally re-emerge from your cave.
Yes, it’s very basic, and is posted in the ‘oddities’ section. But I was still glad to see it there on a well-trafficked mainstream site.
It might not teach anyone how to read cards, or even encourage anyone to try. But at least it doesn’t make fun of Tarot or the people who like it.
And of course, since it is the Science Channel, there’s no suggestion that the cards are evil or any of that type of nonsense.
Instead there are questions relating to psychological concepts like archetypes, projection, and the use of Ink Blot tests.
It’s kind of fun if you’re someone who likes answering multiple-choice questions. I’m embarrassed to say though that I didn’t get 100% when I first took it.
If you take it yourself, be careful of the wording in #2, it tripped me up for sure.
You feel full up with all the love around you. In fact, you might even be a little overwhelmed with how much you care and how loved you feel.
This is a happy time to be with your family or friends or whoever it is that makes up your social community.
You’re probably nearing the end of an important emotional phase. Taking the time now to recognize and be grateful for all you have will help prepare you for the beginning of the next stage of your journey.
Celebrate with your loved ones, remembering with joy and humour all the good and not so good days that brought you to where you are now.
