Moon in Pisces – High Priestess in the Moon's Clothing

October 24th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

High Priestess dressed in the moon's clothing

The Moon moves into Pisces today, and stays there until Friday.

Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Moon.

She’s lost her material body and has disappeared into the celestial body that usually rests at her feet.

The Moon in Pisces, or High Priestess dressed as the Moon, is a time of increased perception, ill-defined understanding and what might be described as night vision.

During this time you could find your dreams feel more real than your daylight hours and what’s not said is louder than what is.

Fears might grow like a boogieman under the bed, but if you just take a peek, they’re as likely to be dust bunnies as demons or ghosts.

Be still, aware and fearless. It might be dark outside, but if there was ever a time you can navigate the unknown, this is it. Listen, breathe, flow.

Queen of Wands

Be yourself and be it fully. This is a day for you to shine. You know yourself and you’ve been true to your soul. It’s always worth it and now you’re remembering why.

As you harness your energy to create your will, do so with compassion. Remember what you suffered to get to your present state. Have compassion for those that are still struggling. They can use your inspiration, but remember your strength. Be careful not to burn them.

Take pride in your self and your work and be the best leader you can.

Moon Goddess – an art show in San Francisco

Moon Goddess Show at the Modern Eden Gallery, San Francisco, California

For those in San Francisco who might like to see a little Moon Goddess art during this Halloween time, take a visit to the Modern Eden Gallery between October 27th and November 11th.

Aunia Kahn and Russell J. Moon have curated what looks to be a beautiful show called Moon Goddess. It represents the work of 25 different artists all sharing their vision of Earth’s closest celestial neighbour.

You can see some of the pieces at the Moon Goddess website. They’re really nice. And of course, I couldn’t help but think that they’d all make great Moon cards in a Tarot deck.

Sun in Scorpio – Sun in Death's Clothing

Sun in Scorpio, Sun Dressed in Death's Clothing

Sun Dressed As Death

The Sun moves into Scorpio today and will be there until November 21st.

If you look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun is dressed in Death’s clothing. He’s still on his horse, but he’s much more covered up than usual.

The Sun in Scorpio, or the Sun dressed in Death’s clothing, is a period that highlights change, quite literally lighting it up.

It’s a great time to bring clarity to issues usually too deep or dark to properly understand.

What you see might not be pretty, but it could be a powerful motivator.

Dig on into the muck and don’t be afraid to get dirty. Play around even, the dark can be as fun as the light.

There’s so much to do right now you probably feel you can’t keep up.  Don’t worry –  you can.

Just keep things in motion and try to stay focused on whatever task you’re working on at each particular moment.  You’ve got more than enough energy for everything right now, try not to give up.

Emotionally things might get a little hairy, but as with your work, you’re more than able to cope.

The changes going on in your life right now are good ones. You’ve put them into motion yourself and you’ll be just fine.

Get To Know Your Cards By Really Using Them

October 22nd, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

In the video below, Trevor Thorkelson makes a good case for why readers, especially those starting out, might want to have at least one Tarot deck they dedicate just for study purposes.

He recommends the Rider Waite Smith, and I think that that would be a fine choice. The important point to me though isn’t what particular deck you choose, but that you have one that you’re willing to really use on a daily basis.

You can’t be afraid to mark it up, or crease some of the cards, or even separate a few out from the pack on occasion, maybe to carry around with you, or as Thorkelson suggests, to post on you’re fridge like a reminder to buy milk.

Take a look at what he has to say about getting ‘fluent’ with your cards. He makes some great points.

Moon in Aquarius – High Priestess in the Star's Clothing

High Priestess in Star's Clothing

High Priestess in Star’s Clothing

The Moon moves into Aquarius today and stays there until Wednesday.

Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Star. In other words, her robes are gone and she’s naked as the bird in the tree behind her.

The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.

Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.

Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.

Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.

#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

TarotSpotting at Home

Usually I’m outside walking around when I come across images that make me think of Tarot cards.

Today though was a little different. I spotted this card in my own kitchen while washing the dishes.

Take a look at the 2 of Cups, or in this case we might call it the 2 of Cans …

Knight of Pentacles

Prince of Disks

Prince of Disks

I know it seems unlikely, but this knight is back again – third time this week! He must be serious about getting his message out …

It’s a good time to get to work.  Nothing exciting, just keep moving forward step by step.  It’ll go a lot faster now that you’re seriously on your way.

Enjoy this building process.  You’re making steady progress.  If you keep moving like this, you’ll reach your goals soon.

And if you’re feeling a little dull because all you do is work, work and plan for more work, that’s okay.  That’s what the energy is right now and you might as well go with it.

Creating stability is worth the effort.  There’ll be plenty of time for fun soon enough.
