You’ll probably be feeling quite loving today. Emotions are open and flowing and you’re getting along with everyone.
People will likely find you even more attractive than usual, and you them. But don’t confuse that with getting serious.
Emotions may have been high lately, or at least all over the place. You might find yourself thinking a lot about what in life (and love) truly makes you happy.
It’s a good time to think about it. But don’t worry, there’s no need to make any firm commitments right now. Just look around you and experience what life has to offer.
You’re in the process of building a new emotional maturity. Enjoy and play friendly.
The Rider-Waite Smith deck is probably the most popular Tarot deck in the world. Though painted by Pamela Colman Smith, Arthur E. Waite is credited with most of the deck’s design. But is that fair?
In Mary K. Greer’s upcoming webinar, she’ll be investigating whether or not Waite should be given as much credit for the deck as he actually gets.
Though the famed occultist clearly had a specific plan for the Major Arcana, what about the images in the Minor cards? They were some of the first Tarot Minors to be illustrated with actual scenes in them rather than simply suit symbols.
How did they come about and whose idea were they? Pamela Colman Smith’s?
The two-part class will be offered through Global Spiritual Studies and will be live January 24th and 31st at 9:00 pm ET (6:00 pm PT). It will be available afterwards on download and DVD.
This isn’t the day for action. It’s time to slow down and take a close look at what’s been going on. And if you can do it from a different perspective – great! Choose a comfortable place to relax and review what you’ve been up to. It might seem like a sacrifice, but it’s well worth it.
Are there patterns in your life that seem to be becoming more obvious than usual? This is a wonderful time to pay attention to how you’re life’s been going these last three months or so. Does it remind you of another time – maybe 12 years ago?
Look carefully at any people, places or things from your past (or that remind you of the past) that might unexpectedly appear. They might be highlighting particular areas in your life you’re repeating. Is it a repetition you’re happy with?
After you’ve done some review, start thinking about where you want to go next. Your old ways are almost over. Think about the new patterns you want to develop – you’ll be ready to start them soon enough. For now, relax, review and let yourself imagine?
Generally speaking, I’m not particularly interested in sports.
And as far as the A-League game at Aurora Stadium this Saturday between Melbourne Victory and the Central Coast Mariners goes, not only am I not interested, I don’t even know what sport they’re playing.
But I am a fan of most things psychic and Jo-Jo the Psychic Alligator from the Tasmania Zoo caught my eye.
It’s not so much Jo-Jo’s actual decision that interests me, but that he’s even being asked. The whole process seems kind of questionable.
The Moon moves into Capricorn today and will stay there until Saturday.
If you were to describe this transit using the Tarot, you might say that the High Priestess is wearing the Devil’s clothing. The virginal goddess has gotten downright beastly.
The Moon in Capricorn, or High Priestess in the Devil’s clothing, is a period of potential internal conflict. The physical world might seem to draw you away from what you typically believe to be right.
You might feel driven or compelled by behaviours and attitudes that go against the grain of your morality. It could be liberating or disturbing, depending on your secrets.
Whatever’s going on though, don’t be too hard on yourself. Get obsessions out of your system, and learn what you can about yourself while you do so.
You should be ready to move on soon. There’s nothing wrong with a little focused physicality. Just don’t get stuck.
This is a good day to get your thoughts as clear as possible. And you may have some emotional issues that could use a little focused attention. It’s a great time to think things through.
What choices are you being asked to make at this time? Look them squarely in the face and choose. If you can’t choose now, when do you think you can? At least decide that. Ask yourself what will bring you closer to your own truth – a union of mind, body and soul.
You’re sharp as a tack today. Take advantage of the energy to decide what needs deciding. You can do it. How will you get to your next step if you don’t?
In Tarot, the Suit of Cups typically represents feelings and emotionality.
Characters from the Cup Court cards are often described as sensitive and nurturing, dreamy, and artistic. They flow with the moods around them, intuitively connecting with their environment.
The Suit of Swords, on the other hand, is much more analytic and rational.
Characters from the Sword Court cards are known for their scientific thinking, clarity of mind, and straightforward manner. They’re interested in knowing why things are as they are, and enjoy logically investigating the world around them.
Of course, both personality types appreciate beauty, but sometimes the rational Sword-types are given short-shrift when it comes to such appreciation.
In the video below by Fraser Davidson called Richard Feynman – Ode To A Flower, physicist Richard Feynman helps dispel such prejudice as he wonderfully expresses a Sword perspective on the beauty of a flower.
You’ve worked hard for your keep, with discipline and perseverance. Physically, some important goals are finally being achieved.
You’re moving towards a place where you feel more at ease, towards a practical stability. The fruits of your labour can now be recognized and finally enjoyed.
Take some time today to quietly congratulate yourself. You’ve worked hard and deserve what you’ve received. Though the road hasn’t always been easy, developing patience and inner strength will prove well worth it.
Unfortunately, the 3rd Edition of the Mountain Dream Tarot is already sold out, but you still might want to take a look at this video Bea Nettles made about her deck a few years back.
