What a good day!  Enjoy! After the long journey you’ve finally managed to get to the other side of the night.

There’s no need to be shy – express yourself and let everyone see you smile.

You have confidence now and boundaries no longer pen you in.  Creativity carries you forward as if in a dream.

Focus your imagination and you can manifest what you will.  Be open, free and alive.

In honour of Father’s Day … we have this delightful representation of an Emperor … an orange with a crown made out of its peel.

8 of Wands

Swift communication is at the forefront today.  Have you applied for something and been waiting to hear back?  Expecting some news to finally come down the wire?

Or maybe it will be a surprise. One way or another, the message is on its way and your wait is almost over.  You’ll know soon enough.

Now that your plans are in action, things will start moving quickly.  Communicate what you want and don’t be shy about it.

How else will people know what you’re thinking?  This is the time to get your ideas out there and your message heard.

The Moon moves into Aquarius today and stays there until Monday.

Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Star. In other words, her robes are gone and she’s naked as the bird in the tree behind her.

The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.

Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.

Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.

Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.

This is a day for looking forward.  You’ve got some time and you’re in a good position to look around and see what you want to do next.  The world is literally in your hands and it’s up to you to decide the next move.

What is it that makes you feel most in control of your domain?  What is it that makes you feel you’re really doing what you’re supposed to be doing?

Don’t rush this – it takes some serious consideration.  Use this time to start getting a grip on your destiny.  You’re in charge of this one.  Don’t be afraid to take control.  Your option is to let someone else.

#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

The Moon moves into Capricorn today and will stay there until Saturday.

If you were to describe this transit using the Tarot, you might say that the High Priestess is wearing the Devil’s clothing. The virginal goddess has gotten downright beastly.

The Moon in Capricorn, or High Priestess in the Devil’s clothing, is a period of potential internal conflict. The physical world might seem to draw you away from what you typically believe to be right.

You might feel driven or compelled by behaviours and attitudes that go against the grain of your morality. It could be liberating or disturbing, depending on your secrets.

Whatever’s going on though, don’t be too hard on yourself. Get obsessions out of your system, and learn what you can about yourself while you do so.

You should be ready to move on soon. There’s nothing wrong with a little focused physicality. Just don’t get stuck.

Queen of Swords

The truth is an important commodity right now.  Getting through the fog and cutting out that which no longer works is a priority.

You might be feeling a little hardcore, a little less sympathetic to sob stories and other tales of woe than usual.  That’s all right.  Sometimes it’s more important to be clear than to be sweet.

Get the job done and do it with the determination, diligence and discernment that you expect from others.

Keep in mind though that the bigger picture includes compassion.  You need not be cruel or mean to be truthful and serious.

Not everyone is as tough-skinned as you are right now, so be aware of the potential effect your words might have.

I was recently gifted two new Tarot decks. You may have seen my reviews … Niki de Saint Phalle Tarot and The Tarot of White Cats. I’m just thrilled about them both. And yes, getting these decks as gifts from a friend from a far away land only makes them feel more special, perhaps even a little more magical.

But having said that, there’s this myth going around. I hear it all the time – that you aren’t supposed to buy your own deck. That to be Tarot-pure, you can only use a deck that someone has gifted you.

That’s not true.

I bought my first Tarot deck (pictured above), and many many many more after that.

I’ve also received many as gifts, and as I said at the beginning, getting them as gifts does make them feel special.

But also special is going out and finding a deck that speaks specifically to you. One for which you love the concepts, the artwork, the colours, the way it feels in your hands, how it shuffles … whatever it might be, it’s something that you’re particularly interested in … something chosen by you.

And just to be clear again – I love receiving Tarot decks as gifts – just love it! But I also love rummaging through book stores and occult shops, yard sales, antique shops, and flea markets looking for decks wherever I might find them. And if I do find one that I like, and that I can afford, I buy it, and I use it. I recommend you do to.
