9 of Cups

What a wonderful day.  You feel open and loving and willing to let the world know – at least if they ask.  You might not feel like running out and embracing everyone you see, but there’s a sense of contentment and well-being that’s impossible to ignore.

This is an excellent time to enjoy and share.  Be generous with your feelings. There’s really nothing to fear in letting people know you care.

Give as you can and laugh out loud as much as possible, even when you’re alone. It may have been some time since you’ve felt this good.  Enjoy. You deserve it.

Today’s post is part of a series where I share some observations and/or questions about images in specific cards.

It’s not so much about defining the cards, but rather a series of points you might look at to widen your own interpretation of the images.

7 Observations about the Rider-Waite-Smith 2 of Pentacles

1. A green lemniscate encircles the pentacles being juggled, suggesting an ongoing process of growth and transformation through the tasks at hand.
2. This is another ‘stage’ card, meaning it looks like the Juggler is performing on a stage – what might that mean in a reading?
3. The water in the background is decidedly choppy, but the boats are riding the waves comfortably. Considering water represents emotions, what might this suggest?
4. This 2 is connected to the Major Arcana card #2, the High Priestess – how might her wisdom and quiet strength be influencing this card?
5. The Juggler is wearing the colours red and rust, with light green shoes – fiery energy with a foundation of new growth? Or something else?
6. The Juggler is in motion both with his hands and his feet – this is not a static situation.
7. And finally … the Juggler is wearing a really odd hat – I don’t know what that means, but I’ve always thought it amusing and worth noting.

Take a look and see what else might be in this card … it’s one thing to memorize a guide book, it can be even more interesting to focus on what you actually see in the image.

4 of Wands

Gather and celebrate! It’s a day to enjoy what you’ve been working on.  The project might not yet be finished, but at least you’re on your way. Well done!  You have reason to smile.

Follow your passion and create from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how it will all turn out, just keep at it. The hard work’s been paying off, and you can take a moment to enjoy before heading on to the next step.

But don’t forget, you probably aren’t doing all the work yourself.  Share the glory or you’ll be hearing about it later.

The Moon moves into Sagittarius today and will be there until Thursday.

Looking at it through the eyes of the Tarot, this transit is like the High Priestess is wearing Temperance’s clothing. She’s dressed like an angel.

The Moon in Sagittarius, or High Priestess in Temperance’s clothing, indicates a time when intellect, practicality, emotions and passion can work together in relative ease.

What’s normally only an idea might find its way to becoming real. Even-tempered inspiration and emotional playfulness can create what look like miracles.

6 of Disks

The reckoning’s done and it’s finally time to dole out the rewards.  Have you done your fair share?  Are you ready to accept what’s due?

Success is coming to those who have done what they can to manifest their goals.  It may seem like manna from heaven but look again – it’s more likely compensation for a job well done.

And don’t forget to thank those who have been helping you. We’re never alone in either our successes or our failures.

Mercury has moved into Cancer, and will stay there until June 29th.

If we translate this transit into the Tarot, it would be like the Magician is wearing the clothes of the Charioteer. He’s hit the road in some pretty snazzy armour.

Mercury in Cancer, or the Magician wearing the Charioteer’s clothing, is an excellent time to turn your ideas into action.

Inspiration abounds, as does the strength to follow through on your commitments.

Don’t give up if the going gets tough, or communication gets murky. Just recalibrate and try again.

Clearly let others know what it is you need from them, but don’t wait around if they can’t help you.

A determined focus and the intention to move forward will get you to where you need to go.

It’s a wonderful day to say thank you – to your family, friends, and even your enemies.

Nostalgia and happy memories might fill your head and it’s worth remembering all the love there is around you.  Take pleasure in acknowledging it and grateful to extend it further.

Giving and receiving are two sides of the same joy.  Take pleasure in both and don’t be shy to tell people how much they mean to you.   You’ll probably be surprised by how much they love you back.

With close relationships, this is an especially important time to remember the history and strength of your time together. It’s these ties that have helped you through your most serious moments – both good and bad.

Don’t take them lightly, close friends really are special, and not as common as you might think.

Victory is finally at hand. You’ve won the game and everyone’s cheering. It wasn’t always easy so the win is that much sweeter.

Have a good time and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard to master.

Your good fortune probably has a lot to do with staying true to your heart. Keep it up.

This isn’t an unexpected gift from the skies, it’s acknowledgement for doing something special.

Venus moves into Taurus today and will stay there until July 4th.

If we look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Empress is wearing the Hierophant’s clothing. She’s moved from casual comfort to a more authoritative formal look.

Venus in Taurus, or the Empress in the Hierophant’s clothing can be a time of faith that the universe is operating exactly as it should. How could it not be? The world’s mother is in charge.

Creative energies can be contained, directed and used to exalt the lowly and the sublime. It’s a time of sensuality, but one that’s refined and under control.

Fine art, philosophy, music, and good food. Embrace it all and celebrate how amazing it is to be human.

As long as the Empress is in this outfit, the rule of the day is grace, love and beauty.
