What an incredible honour!! Beyond Worlds has been voted Tarosophist of the Year by the highly esteemed international Tarot association, Tarot Professionals.
Marcus Katz, founder of both Tarot Professionals and the fabulous Tarot Town wrote in the award release:
“Donnaleigh, Storm, Theresa and Georgianna have consistently produced an educational, wide-ranging, contemporary, relevant, fun, accessible, professional and well-produced online radio show for Tarot. Their guests have included Lon Milo Duquette, Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, and I personally discovered how friendly and professional they were as hosts when I appeared on the show during the year.
Donnaleigh’s infectious enthusiasm and courteous questioning gets the best out of every guest, supported by Storm’s sharp wit, Theresa’s no-nonsense approach and Georgianna’s down-to-earth authenticity. As a group, they are the ideal ‘four suits’ of a full deck and demonstrate the diverse heart of the Tarot.”
I’m blown away. And so very grateful to Marcus and Tarot Professionals. And of course, to all of our listeners. It truly would be pointless without you.
My co-hosts Donnaleigh de LaRose,Storm Cestavani and Theresa Reed are three of the best Tarot readers I’ve ever met, not to mention very excellent people. I feel blessed to be on this Tarot adventure with them.
Optimism and rejuvenation are the themes for the day. Active generosity and compassion come easy so don’t hold back. Give and you will receive. Embrace the Universe’s capacity to provide you with what you need when you need it most. That’s what miracles are and the Star is the goddess of miracles.
If things have been tough lately, now’s a time when you can finally lean back and take a bit of a break. Surround yourself with as much beauty as you can. It will help to replenish your soul. Art, music, and the glory of the night sky are all worthy subjects of meditation. Let them fill you with the inspiration you need for the next leg of your journey.
Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice. And it’s even more special this year than usual. Not only will it be the shortest day and longest night of 2010, but it falls on the same day as a full lunar eclipse. This hasn’t happened in 456 years!
The sun, earth and moon will begin to align at 1:33 a.m. EST causing the earth’s shadow to appear as a dark red bite at the edge of the moon. The ‘total’ eclipse will start at 2:41 a.m. and last 72 minutes.
According to NASA, the peak of the event will be at 3:17 a.m. “when the moon will be in deepest shadow, displaying the most fantastic shades of coppery red.”
Astrologically it’s kind of a big deal too. Eclipses speed things up. And often uncover what’s hidden. They highlight situations in our lives that require attention.
What comes up during an eclipse isn’t always easy to face, but it’s always worthwhile to consider. Let’s make the most of this one.
The flame has been ignited and there’s a new feeling floating around. This is a day to let inspiration lead the way. Throw out your old excuses and start something you really care about. Passion and fire are what motivates the soul and it’s time to listen to yours.
You might not yet know what’s different but you know your old way of doing things is no longer possible. A new spirit has been planted and you can probably feel the excitement beginning to build.
Whatever it is that moves you with enthusiasm should be your starting point. Being true to your spirit isn’t being selfish. It’s what makes you fully human.
Tonight the men of the deck will get a chance to speak. We’ll be exploring the Emperor and the Hierophant. Power and Morality. What roles do they play in our lives? And what do they mean when they show up in a reading?
Be there with us in the chatroom or call in (646) 200-0765 to tell us what you think.
And if you miss this show, or any of the Tarot Intensive classes, they’re always available in the archives. Take a listen at your leisure.
Creation and the celebration of the senses are highlighted today. Art, food, music – anything that inspires our physical and emotional selves will inspire you and be well worth the time.
Nurture yourself and others. It’ll probably be hard not to. Nurturance isn’t just a luxury. You need to maintain and even increase your strength in order to birth what you’ve been working on. Eat delicious, healthy foods, surround yourself with beauty, take warm, aromatic baths . . . it’s all part of the Empress’ path to creation.
If you’ve been dealing with issues surrounding motherhood, women, or femininity in general, this would be a great day to take a closer look. There’s wonderful energy now to help you resolve issues you might have thought irresolvable.
It’s taken some time, but I finally put together the Graffiti Court Cards! They’re part of my Toronto Graffiti Tarot, that until now has been Majors Only.
Step by step. It’ll be a whole deck soon. Stay tuned.
And if you didn’t see it before, here’s the Major Arcana.
Are there choices to be made? Decisions you’ve put off for another time? Well this is the time. The Lovers card asks us to finally make up our minds – either commit or get out now.
On a personal level, the Lovers reminds us to balance the opposites within ourselves. Are your ying and yang in sync? Does your conscious experience compliment your unconscious dream state or do they seem at war? Are you living a life that satisfies your soul? Heavy questions, but this is a great day to think about them. In fact, you might find it difficult not to.
This is a serious commitment you’re thinking about. To help you make up your mind, ask yourself which direction brings you closer to your soul’s call. You probably already know the answer.
Senator Joseph Getty, R-District 5, intends to introduce legislation to repeal Carroll County Maryland’s ban on fortune tellers.
Presently, Carroll’s code says, “a person may not demand or accept payment or gratuity to forecast or foretell, or pretend to forecast or foretell the future of another person by: 1. reading a card; 2. reading the palm of a hand; or 3. any other scheme, practice or device.”
Violators could face a $100 fine and/or up to six months in the Carroll Detention Center.
The prohibition on accepting payment for divining and/or pretending to divine, was put into the Carroll County Code in 2002, after the state removed it from the criminal code. In Maryland, both Caroline and Talbot Counties also specifically ban payment for divination.
A decision by Maryland’s Supreme Court this past June determined that a similar prohibition in Montgomery County was an unconstitutional restriction on protected speech.
Citing this case, Getty said a prohibition on fortune telling in Carroll County is a violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution.
According to the Carroll County Times, neither the Carroll County Board of Commissioners nor the delegation of the General Assembly had any objections to changing the county code through legislation.
Power to you Senator Getty. And thank you to Ariel Harper Nave, the astrologer who brought this issue to his attention.
Today’s themes are balance and justice. It might be time to stand up or into your own authority by being strong, sure and most importantly, just. This isn’t the time to play around and think you’ll get away with not doing your share. On the other hand, if you do the work required, the Justice energy is happy to reward you.
Have you been playing fair? It’s not so much about the mundane rules as it is about the bigger universal justice. And it’s not necessarily about ‘work’ per se, but rather the energies that you’ve been putting out there. Are you speaking up for what you believe in? Are you taking responsibility for your own life? Do you help others as you might expect them to help you?
What you send out is what you’re likely to get back. This is karma in action and it’s generally quite profound. On days when the Justice card appears, the karmic force is typically more obvious than usual. Look around and see if you can find it.
Take time to rebalance yourself, and if possible, find some time to get out into nature. It usually puts things into perspective pretty fast. Think carefully about your next move. It’s what you’ve already done that has brought you to where you are now. What you do next will determine what you’ll be reaping in your future. Try to make it something good for everyone.
