The Fool on Ceramic

June 14th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Time lapse is great! Take a look at the Fool coming to life on a ceramic plate.

Howard Dale made this ten minute video of the five hour process of drawing, colouring and glazing his Fool.

It turned out gorgeous, and makes me want to start drawing on ceramics myself.

You can check out more of Dale’s work at his Etsy shop.

And I can’t help but notice that in the same week I’ve had a story about both a Howard Dale and a Dale Howard. It’s kind of fun.

Moon in Sagittarius – High Priestess in Temperance's Clothing

The High Priestess dressed in Temperance's Clothing

High Priestess as Temperance

The Moon moves into Sagittarius today and will be there until Thursday.

Looking at it through the eyes of the Tarot, you can describe this transit as being like the High Priestess wearing Temperance’s clothing. She’s dressed like an angel.

The Moon in Sagittarius, or High Priestess in Temperance’s clothing, indicates a time when intellect, practicality, emotions and passion can work together in relative ease.

What’s normally only an idea might find its way to becoming real. Even-tempered inspiration and emotional playfulness can create what look like miracles.

Take this time to bring your emotions in line with your passions. And play with your most serious ideas. It’s in combining the unexpected that you’ll likely find gold.

I know we just had this card yesterday, but it came back today, and I’m not going to fight it.

It looks like it’ll be a sweet day.  Open communication full of love and tenderness.  This is a day to make sure you tell the people you love how much they mean to you.

If you’re starting a romantic relationship, or in one, it can be especially delicious.  Be romantic and enjoy each other.  It’s a time of beauty, peace and innocence, the reason we love love so much.

If you’re not feeling romantic, take the energy and let yourself simply express how much you care about those around you.

It will be most powerful if you tell them one-to-one.  Let them know they’re special, it’ll make you feel great too.

The Manitoba Legislative Building – an occult temple?

June 13th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Manitoba Legislative Building

Manitoba Legislative building

Did you know that the Manitoba Legislative building in Winnipeg is ‘the most sophisticated and complex, occult-Masonic-designed building in the world’?

According to Frank Albo it is. And the former University of Winnipeg researcher, and present-day doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge, is dedicated to revealing its secrets.

He believes the building, deigned by Frank Worthington Simon, is a replica of King Solomon’s Temple, reconstructed right there in the middle of the Canadian Prairies.

Simon’s intention, according to Albo, was to use the magic of architcture to ‘make people more intelligent, better balanced and all together, more civilized human beings.’

Simon was seriously influenced by Freemasonry and concepts of sacred geometry. And since every Premier of Manitoba from 1872 to 1968 was a Mason, it really shouldn’t be a surprise if some occult-Masonic symbolism managed to makes its way into the legislative building.

Albo’s written a book about it called The Hermetic Code: Unlocking One of Manitoba’s Greatest Secrets, that’s due to be republished this month.

And he’ll be leading Hermetic Code Tours every Tuesday and Wednesday nights from July 5th through September 28th.

The Golden Boy

Visitors will be guided through the building as if they’re priests in a procession.

And the coded messages in the symbols like the Mercurial Golden Boy, sacred bulls, Athena, Medusa and the Pool of the Black Star, will all be explained.

Albo is a man truly obsessed, but I can understand why. The building is fascinating. I’d love to go on his tour.

Check out the video below to hear him talk about it and see some of the architechture itself.

If you can’t make it for one of Albo’s special Hermetic Tours, the province does offer regular tours of the building every hour.

Or you can take a virtual tour online. But it’s not quite as fun.

Without Albo, you’ll have to divine the symbolic meanings of what you see for yourself.

Moon in Scorpio – High Priestess in Death's Clothing

June 12th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

The High Priestess in Death's ClothesThe moon moves into Scorpio today and stays there until Tuesday.

If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.

The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.

If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.

This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.

You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.

It’s a wonderful day to say thank you – to your family, friends, and even your enemies.

Nostalgia and happy memories might fill your head and it’s worth remembering all the love there is around you.  Take pleasure in acknowledging it and grateful to extend it further.

Giving and receiving are two sides of the same joy.  Take pleasure in both and don’t be shy to tell people how much they mean to you.   You’ll probably be surprised by how much they love you back.

With close relationships, this is an especially important time to remember the history and strength of your time together. It’s these ties that have helped you through your most serious moments – both good and bad.

Don’t take them lightly, close friends really are special, and not as common as you might think.

The Archive of Psychic Transition

June 11th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

I love it. It’s an interactive bookshelf, otherwise known as a hidden doorway.

I especially like this one because the artist used books on the unconscious, dreaming and psychoanalysis to line his shelves. He called it The Archive of Psychic Transition. Sigmund Freud is the key.

The transition itself isn’t mystical, but it definitely leads to a completely new perspective.

The piece was created by Jason Manley and is at the Jaus Gallery in Los Angeles as part of Home on La Grange.

I want one for my reading room.

Home on La Grange runs through July 3rd.

#12 – The Hanged Man

This isn’t the day for action.  It’s time to slow down and take a close look at what’s been going on. And if you can do it from a different perspective – great!   Choose a comfortable place to relax and review what you’ve been up to.  It might seem like a sacrifice, but it’s well worth it.

Are there patterns in your life that seem to becoming more obvious than usual? This is a wonderful time to pay attention to how you’re life’s been going these last three months or so.  Does it remind you of another time – maybe 12 years ago?

Look carefully at any people, places or things from your past (or that remind you of the past) that might unexpectedly appear. They might be highlighting particular areas in your life you’re repeating. Is it a repetition you’re happy with?

After you’ve done some review, start thinking about where you want to go next.  Your old ways are almost over.  Think about the new patterns you want to develop – you’ll be ready to start them soon enough.  For now, relax, review and let yourself imagine?
