#2 – The High Priestess

This is a good day to give your spirit some serious attention.  Take a little time by yourself to think about what it is that you believe.  What do you think of the world and your place in it?  What ultimately gives your life meaning?

It’s also a good time right now to pay attention to the messages other people have been sending you.   Let yourself absorb the world around you without feeling the need to jump in right away and take action.  This is a better time to sit and receive than to act.

Observe, listen and think about what it is you’re doing.  Through reflection you’ll start to see all sides.  Through this wider perspective you’ll find the priorities and direction that can help you on your path.

Mississippi State Seal

Last week, Tommy and Marie Costello filed suit in U.S. District Court against Hattiesburg, Mississippi, claiming its fortune-telling ban is illegal.

The couple was issued a notice of violation on December 29th of last year for their business, Marie – Psychic Reader.

Though they went ahead and closed down their shop, they feel that the law against fortune-telling is illegal censorship, and in violation of both the U.S. and Mississippi constitutions.

Further, they claim that their rights to due process have been violated, and that their ability to discuss their skills and to advertise their professional services have been silenced.

The Costellos seek a declaration that the city ordinance is illegal prior restraint of free speech, an injunction requiring repeal of the ordinance, and unspecified damages.

#1 – The Magician

Were you thinking of starting something new? This is the time to do it. The energy of The Magician encourages you to start fresh.

Look around – I bet you have all the tools you need for this new enterprise. It’s only up to you to start making things happen.

Name your goal and start listing the steps you need to get there. Especially important is that first step. It can be big or small – just take it! You’re at the very beginning right now, don’t let the long journey ahead dissuade you from going forward.

You can’t go back, so what the heck? Focus on what it is you want to achieve and you can make anything happen.

Beware though, don’t try fooling yourself or others, there’s no need for deception. It will only lead you down the wrong road right from the start. Stay true to your plan and keep yourself focused.

You can do what you need to without resorting to trickery or lies. It’ll work out much better in the long run if you stick to the truth.

Tarot characters breaking out of the deck and joining humans in the real world… how would that play out?

In The Tarot Chronicles, by Chris Brailsford. that’s exactly what happens, and apparently it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

The Tarot Chronicles is a 1940s detective crime drama web series Brailsford is hoping to produce with the help of donations through Kickstarter.

The moon moves into Scorpio today and stays there until Saturday.

If you translate this transit into the Tarot, you could say that the High Priestess is dressed as Death. She’s in the midst of a great transformation.

The Moon in Scorpio, or High Priestess in Death’s clothing, suggests a time when feelings run deep. The ability to end relationships that don’t work, or release stagnant emotions is accentuated.

If there’s a situation in your life that’s nearing its completion, especially if it’s emotional or relationship-oriented, this might be a good time to let it go. At least explore it with emotional clarity.

This isn’t a time to be afraid, but rather a time to face your fears with equanimity and intelligence.

You’ve got what it takes. Don’t back down from the scary stuff.

7 of Cups

Are you having a hard time making a decision, maybe trouble moving forward?  Are you blaming yourself and everybody else for your emotional problems? 

It might be a little tough right now but don’t give up.  Try to pull yourself together and start making some choices. 

Don’t waste your time worrying about what anyone else is doing.  Concentrate instead on getting a grip on yourself.

What do you really want next?  Think about it clearly and with as much focus as you can muster.  Once you finally choose, it’s going to be a lot easier. 

Wallowing in misery or hiding in whatever escape you feel most comfortable in won’t help for much longer.  In fact, it’s likely to bring you down instead. 

Pull up those boot straps and decide what’s next. The only real way to feel better is to start taking action.  There’s lot’s to do, get going!
