We just had this card, but it showed up again today ….
Learn to direct your inner wildness during this period of fiery intensity and your personal power is likely to grow. Innocence and purity work together to balance your passion with wisdom.
Explore ways to act assertively but without aggression. The gentle touch might go a lot further than a loud voice or an impetuous rage.
It’s a very creative time and you’re encouraged to allow yourself room to flourish. Don’t be shy. This is the moment to take action and move forward with plans you may have held off on until now.
Do you want to see a joke told in Tarot? And not only in Tarot, but in Ancient Egyptian and Cuneiform too.
Reg Kemp, a UK comedian and apparent UFOlogist, says he’s been interested in dead languages lately. It led him to record this joke three different ways.
No one knows what Ancient Egyptian or Cuneiform actually sounded like, so Kemp does his own interpretation and acts them out.
For the Tarot segment, he translates in English just in case we don’t get the joke. And I warn you, it’s pretty idiotic, but I enjoyed it anyway.
I love that he made himself a kind of human Rosetta Stone, but I reject his inclusion of the Tarot as one of the dead languages.
It’s alive and kicking, though not phonetic. And unlike the other two, it’s not written in stone.
There’s no reason to believe that just because something looks alien that it’s in fact psychic or can read minds. But it does sort of feel like these cats are looking right through you.
Nothing telepathic is really going on here, but since the ad used crazy looking cats and a psychic theme, I’ll give their cause a plug.
For those in the Washington D.C. area interested in the newest in German-language cinema, you might want to check out the Neu Film Festival this coming January.
It’ll be the festival’s 20th anniversary, and who knows, maybe the cats will be there.
The Moon moves into Pisces today, and stays there until Sunday.
Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Moon.
She’s lost her material body and has disappeared into the celestial body that usually rests at her feet.
The Moon in Pisces, or High Priestess dressed as the Moon, is a time of increased perception, ill-defined understanding and what might be described as night vision.
During this time you could find your dreams feel more real than your daylight hours and what’s not said is louder than what is.
Fears might grow like a boogieman under the bed, but if you just take a peek, they’re as likely to be dust bunnies as demons or ghosts.
Be still, aware and fearless. It might be dark outside, but if there was ever a time you can navigate the unknown, this is it. Listen, breathe, flow.
It’s a good time to get to work. Nothing exciting, just keep moving forward step by step. It’ll go a lot faster now that you’re seriously on your way.
Enjoy this building process. You’re making steady progress. If you keep moving like this, you’ll reach your goals soon.
And if you’re feeling a little dull because all you do is work, work and plan for more work, that’s okay. That’s what the energy is right now and you might as well go with it.
Creating stability is worth the effort. There’ll be plenty of time for fun soon enough.
He’s been studying such things as clairvoyance, psychokinesis, and telepathy from a strictly scientific perspective for years.
And he’s certainly not the only one, as evidenced by the literally thousands of experiments he reviews in his books.
What makes him different is that he’s not afraid to say out loud that he’s seriously interested in such a ‘woo woo’ topic. A topic he describes as ‘taboo’ within the scientific community.
It’s not because there’s a lack of interest. As he points out, studies have consistently shown that there’s plenty, in both the general population, and that of college professors.
Radin believes it comes down to the culture of science itself, where concepts of religion and spirituality are considered completely irrational, and if not useless, potentially harmful to the search for truth.
Radin thinks otherwise, having found in his own work that there’s plenty of worthwhile research to be done in the consciousness and psychic fields. Not to mention, it’s very very interesting.
#15 The Devil
For me, this discussion brought to mind the Devil card from the Tarot deck. It’s the card I most associate with taboos, and with the breaking of them.
The Devil is very physical, maybe not so rational, but very concerned with the material, with what’s in the ‘real’ world.
His biggest challenge is to connect with the spirit and to avoid becoming so obsessed with the sensations around him that he misses the subtler energies that are also there.
When we’re unable to look beyond the purely physical, we risk getting caught up in the Devil’s trap. He convinces us that what we see is all there is, and that it’s dangerous to check for ourselves to make sure he’s right.
It’s a shame if scientists, known for their intelligence and objectivity, tie themselves to this devil-like attitude. It builds taboos around what can and cannot be explored, and does nothing more than hold us all back.
I’ve posted the 1st, 3rd, and 4th clips from Radin’s talk. It was part of the ‘Conversations from the Edge’ 2006 series in San Francisco.
The first part defines what is a taboo, while the second two discuss the scientific taboos around psychic research.

Venus moves into Sagittarius today and will stay there until November 26th.
From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the Empress is wearing Temperance’s clothing. She’s changed her gown and has sprouted some wings.
The Empress is nurturing, kind, and creative. She looks for beauty everywhere. And if she doesn’t find it, she makes it appear.
She’s femininity personified, the grand mother of the cards, supportive, and powerful, and willing to fight for her young.
The Empress lives in luxury, reveling in the senses. Her world is lush and green. Everything around her is growing, bursting with life.
Temperance lives in lush richness as well, though instead of reclining, he’s up and about stirring the waters.
He takes nature past itself, and asks you to believe in the divine. Five senses aren’t enough for him. His third eye connects to a sixth. It must be the one that the angels use.
Temperance is balanced and calm, practical and peaceful. It’s not that he’s without fire, he just knows how to keep it even.
The Empress is very comfortable in this environment. It’s a chance to spread her wings and make a little magic.
Venus in Sagittarius, or the Empress in Temperance’s clothing, is a time of creative harmony.
It’s perfect for opening your heart and senses to the beauty around you. Things might feel more magical than usual, but it all comes down to perspective.
The magic of the earth is everywhere always, we just don’t always notice it. Right now though, it’s hard to miss. Enjoy and give thanks.
Use this time to balance your emotional and practical life. It could be easier than you think. Miracles are possible, but you have to open your heart to let them in.
Mercury moves into Sagittarius today and will stay there until January 8th. It goes retrograde from November 24th to December 14th, so things might be upside down for a bit.
Looking at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it’s like the Magician is wearing Temperance’s clothing. His cape has turned into wings and he’s playing with water.
The Magician is the master of his will, able to direct the universe with the focus of his thoughts.
He’s clear, quick, and an inspiration to be around. New ideas and fresh perspectives flow easily through him as he reaches beyond the limits.
He communicates without effort, rarely if ever at a loss for words. And he’s able to charm or curse with the flip of a finger.
Temperance is more concerned with the inner realms, focusing his energy on the magic of balance.
With one foot on the earth and one on the water, he’s able to remain upright, unconstrained by natural laws.
He’s dynamic but sure, and a master of emotional equanimity.
The Magician enjoys his time as Temperance. He appreciates the magic of the angels, and likes playing in new dimensions.
Mercury in Sagittarius, or the Magician in Temperance’s clothing, can be a time of balanced inspiration.
It’s great for expressing ideas that might normally seem too big to consider. Give them some thought, you never know what you’ll come up with.
Issues or situations that seemed impossible to figure out might suddenly come together, as if by divine inspiration.
But really it’s clear vision and a good dose of faith that’s probably at work. Direct it with will and you can make miracles happen.
