Tonight on Beyond Worlds we have the surprise return of Robert M. Place! He was just with us a couple of weeks ago talking about alchemy, but there wasn’t nearly enough time to learn all we wanted to.
Start that new project now! I know it’s just the beginning and you can hardly see how it’s going to manifest, but manifest it will. The Ace of Disks is the seed that begins all new physical realities.
Is it a new job? A novel approach to an old one? Trying to get a project off the ground? Starting a new workout or eating regime?
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the details yet. What’s important right now is to start working. Do it with the confidence that it’s going to succeed – in the real world.
All great trips require a first step. This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Take the step and start the journey.
In honour of Earth Day tomorrow, and more specifically, Mother Earth herself, I thought I’d draw one card to ask what we can personally do to make the planet a little greener this year.
The card I got was the 10 of Wands. It pictures someone carrying a heavy load of sticks. The person is slightly stooped and seems to have quite a distance to go before they’ll get to their destination.
Typically I tell someone who pulls this card to consider decreasing some of their responsibilities, delegating tasks, and/or asking for some help.
The load has grown too heavy and if they continue as they’ve been going, they’re headed for a collapse of sorts.
Looking at this card from the perspective of my question though, it strikes me that we’re being asked to lessen our load on the planet. And in particular, our energy load, as the suit of wands is closely associated to energy in all its forms.
Moving forward as we have been is too much for the earth and collapse is likely if we don’t make change.
Furthermore, I think the card might be indicating that we’ve got some serious work ahead, and that there’s a distance to go before we can claim victory.
I see optimism here though, even in the midst of what the Thoth deck calls ‘oppression’. All the tens in Tarot suggest the end of a cycle, and we’re likely facing one as a society right now.
How can we start making change today? What old ways of doing things can we leave behind in the past, and where can we look to find inspiration for the future?
I should probably pull some more cards on those questions too …
The Moon moves into Taurus today and stays there until Monday.
If you look at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Hierophant. She’s sitting before two acolytes and sharing the secrets she usually guards.
The Moon in Taurus, or High Priestess in the Hierophant’s clothes, is a time of spiritual and emotional certitude.
There’s a sense that the truth can be explained, understood and incorporated into daily life. Rules can and should be followed.
Instead of trying to force others to recognize what you know to be certain, try using this time to simply share your emotional, intellectual and spiritual perceptions.
Celebrate the diversity of spirit in our world, while figuring out for yourself what rules, spiritual or otherwise, work best for you.
You may have had a tough go of it this last little while, but you’re hardly ready to give up. Have confidence in your inner strength and experience.
You have the tools necessary to get you through this situation. It’s certainly not the first time you’ve faced it so you already know what to expect.
Stand tall and don’t back down from your truth. You care about what you’re doing and that’s why there’s not much choice but to keep going forward. If it gets too hard, take a break, but try not to stop.
Remember your power, it’s real and it comes from inside.
Swift communication is at the forefront today. Have you applied for something and been waiting to hear back? Expecting some news to finally come down the wire?
Or maybe it will be a surprise. One way or another, the message is on its way and your wait is almost over. You’ll know soon enough.
Now that your plans are in action, things will start moving quickly. Communicate what you want and don’t be shy about it.
How else will people know what you’re thinking? This is the time to get your ideas out there and your message heard.
I don’t know if this documentary about divination was ever released, but even the trailer is fascinating.
A Fortune Teller Told Me tracks the journey of Brendon McDonnell as he travels around the world trying to discover if anyone can really predict the future.
It looks like a fabulous film. I’d love to see it all.
The Sun moved into Taurus today and will stay there until May 20th.
Looking at it through the eyes of the tarot, this transit is like the Sun is dressed as the Hierophant. The nude child is putting on some heavy robes and getting serious.
The Sun in Taurus, or the Sun dressed as the Hierophant, is a time where you can confidently express what you believe.
Making decisions isn’t a heavy burden, but rather a task to be tackled with determination, and even a certain joy.
Take pleasure in the human expression of the spirit, in the things we make, feel and hold up as sacred.
Having faith is very human. Use this time to actively connect to what you believe in, and share it as if it were a song, or a really good joke. Have fun with it.
You may have more physical prosperity than you thought. Look around and see the support that’s there.
It’s likely that the money or physical support or whatever it is you need is at hand and that those who said they were behind you really are.
Trust your family and loved ones, they really do have your back and were never going to let you fall.
Open yourself to abundance and you might be surprised at how much is there for you.
And when you prosper, don’t forget to be generous. No one ever does it all on their own (even when we think we do). We all need each other, and it’s through sharing that we discover our true wealth.
