Empress as Charioteer
Venus moves into Cancer today and stays there until September 6th.
From a Tarot perspective, it’s like the Empress is dressed as the Charioteer. She’s thrown on some armour and taken to the road.
Venus in Cancer, or the Empress in the clothes of the Charioteer, can be a time of active beauty and love.
It takes courage to create and move past just ideas to what’s actually real. This is a chance to do that, and to do it with joy.
Perseverance and the fortitude to keep going when the road gets rocky are gifts of this cycle. As is the ability to see beauty in even the ugliest of ditches.
Enjoy the ride and don’t give up on anything you really care about. Love conquers all.

Get down to work. Nothing exciting going on, except maybe the chance to get more done than you thought you would.
Follow the template and don’t worry about being particularly innovative today. It’s probably more important to just get it done.
To motivate yourself try remembering that what you’re working on now is setting you up for your future. Put in the effort and it’ll ultimately pay off.

I know my birthday was a week and a half ago, but I can’t help but make one more post about it.
Well not really about the birthday itself, but about one of the cards I got.
It’s from my parents and was hand-made by my artistic and very crafty mother.
As you can see, it’s a cut & paste motif featuring myself as a card reader and my dear friend Madame G as my client.
Inside the card is my mystical feline associate, Carl JK, posing as the Bohemian Cat Oracle and predicting a positive new year.
And it came in this card encrusted envelope!!
I just LOVE it and wanted everyone to see!
Thanks Mom!! (and Dad) You help make birthdays and fortune-telling fun!

#14 – Temperance
This is a great day to even things out. Balance and temperance are the energies surrounding you now. Can you bring your physical world into harmony with your emotional state?
Temperance is about that perfect mix, neither too much nor too little. It’s about becoming conscious of what you want to be both inside and out, and courageous enough to try.
You are responsible for any healing you might need. The first step is to acknowledge what might be out of balance and then start readjusting.
Sometimes it’s about finding a new way to meld your internal opposites; sometimes it’s about casting out what no longer works. In all cases though, it’s about being true to your self and connecting to the grander universe.
Try asking an angel for some help today. You might be surprised at the result.

Okay, so apparently I have no control.
I made a personal pact not to post any more psychic animal videos after Euro 2012, but I can’t seem to help myself.
An oracular Russian raccoon named Jemma sucked me right in.
Having recently become aquainted with a raccoon in my own neck of the woods (see photo), Jemma caught my eye.
She’s making predictions on the Olympics and has chosen China to go home with the most medals. She’s called Russia to come in second.
It’ll be interesting to see if she’s right. We’ll all be watching.
And I wonder if my new raccoon friend has any thoughts on the games. I should ask.

High Priestess dressed as Emperor
The Moon moves into Aries today and will stay there until Wednesday.
Translating this transit into Tarot cards, it would be like the High Priestess is wearing the Emperor’s clothing. She’s in scarlet and armor and is ready for battle.
The Moon in Aries, or High Priestess in the clothing of the Emperor, is a time of intensified emotions. You might feel an increased desire to shape your own world.
Rather than sitting back in stillness, this transit encourages the loosening of emotional restrictions and the conscious expression of enthusiasm and/or passion.

As some of you might know, I’m always on the hunt for new cards for my Toronto Graffiti Tarot Deck.
Though much of the deck is done, I’m still gathering images for the Minor Arcana.
On a recent TarotSpotting mission I came across this bearded cyclist flashing the peace sign.
He just might end up being my 2 of Disks … harmonious change in action.
