The Moon moves into Aquarius today and stays there until Sunday.
Described in Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Star. In other words, her robes are gone and she’s naked as the bird in the tree behind her.
The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.
Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.
Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.
Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.
Don’t be frightened by the Devil but certainly take him seriously. He’s no lightweight. He is earth – the deepest and darkest part of it and he plays hard.
He is physicality, materiality, reality. He’s in the world of the senses unhindered by the spirit or the mind. He is what we can see, hear, smell, touch and taste and when he’s around it’s hard to get enough.
Obsessive behaviour is highlighted today – what’s yours? You’re probably fixated on something – good or bad?
Sex, drugs and wild living might be obvious places to look, but could your obsession be something you don’t even notice because it’s an ‘acceptable’ addiction. Maybe too much study, work, an unrelenting compulsion to make money, an obsession with being ‘perfect’?
Once you’ve found your mania, take a look to see if it’s a problem or not. It’s up to you to decide when you’ve had or done enough. Sometimes you need to obsess for things to really happen. Or are you just making excuses?
Watch for a feeling of disjointedness within yourself. Does it feel like your spirit is in sync with your conscious behaviour or are you wrestling your ideals to fit with what you’re actually doing?
Love, live and laugh hard today but pay attention to whether or not you’re actually doing what you need to be doing. You’re the only one who can chain or unchain yourself to anything.
It’s a slow news day here at the Tarot Room, so further to my on-going series of Cat with Cards, I offer you all some images of my Tarot-loving cat meditating on the King of Cups (and making a mess of my workspace) …
The reckoning’s done and it’s finally time to dole out the rewards. Have you done your fair share? Are you ready to accept what’s due?
Success is coming to those who have done what they can to manifest their goals. It may seem like manna from heaven but look again – it’s more likely compensation for a job well done.
And don’t forget to thank those who have been helping you. We’re never alone in either our successes or our failures.
If you’re a music loving Tarot reader you might want to try out this idea by James Truong – an iPod Tarot Deck.
The complete instructions can be found at WikiHow, but the idea is pretty simple if you already know how to create a playlist. And it doesn’t have to be on an iPod – any digital media player will work.
Just sit down with your music library and choose songs that you think best represent the particular cards in the deck and collect them all in a playlist marked ‘Tarot’.
For instance, you might choose something like Bob Dylan’s Mr. Tambourine Man for the Fool, a classic version of Ave Maria for the High Priestess, or the Stone’s Sympathy for the Devil for, of course, the Devil.
Though those choices are pretty obvious, to find all the cards takes some time. I’d personally start with just the Majors and work from there.
When you get all you cards/songs chosen, then you can finally start to play. All you have to do is ask your question and press ‘shuffle’. The song that first plays (or maybe even the first two or three) is the answer to your query.
I love it. I want to go make one now.

The Moon moves into Capricorn today and will stay there until Friday.
If you were to describe this transit using the Tarot, you might say that the High Priestess is wearing the Devil’s clothing. The virginal goddess has gotten downright beastly.
The Moon in Capricorn, or High Priestess in the Devil’s clothing, is a period of potential internal conflict. The physical world might seem to draw you away from what you typically believe to be right.
You might feel driven or compelled by behaviours and attitudes that go against the grain of your morality. It could be liberating or disturbing, depending on your secrets.
Whatever’s going on though, don’t be too hard on yourself. Get obsessions out of your system, and learn what you can about yourself while you do so.
You should be ready to move on soon. There’s nothing wrong with a little focused physicality. Just don’t get stuck.
Learn to direct your inner wildness during this period of fiery intensity and your personal power is likely to grow. Innocence and purity work together to balance your passion with wisdom.
Explore ways to act assertively but without aggression. The gentle touch might go a lot further than a loud voice or an impetuous rage.
It’s a very creative time and you’re encouraged to allow yourself room to flourish. Don’t be shy. This is the moment to take action and move forward with plans you may have held off on until now.
While browsing around the wonderful Monkey’s Paw second-hand bookstore, I came across this 1955 Queen of Hearts Cook Book from Peter Pauper Press, illustrated by Josephine Irwin.
As you likely know, the playing card Suit of Hearts is equivalent to Tarot’s Suit of Cups, so for me, this little tome is like a cookbook for the Cup family.
Since the Cups are known for their fine hospitality, it seemed especially appropriate.
Not only does the book include delicious recipes for things like Ham Cornucopia, Potato Puffs, and Lemon Ice Box Cake, the pictures are fantastic.
Mercury moves into Pisces today and will stay there until April 14th.
From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the Magician is wearing the Moon’s clothing. He’s all but disappeared except for his face.
Mercury in Pisces, or the Magician in the Moon’s clothing is a time when it’s possible for the unexplainable to be explained, or at least demonstrated more consciously than usual.
Use this time to connect with your unconscious, or those areas in your life you keep most hidden from even yourself. Then journal about it, blog, or talk with people you trust.
Dreams are likely to be a rich source of inspiration, and psychic communication enhanced.
Be wary though of silver-tongued story-tellers trying to convince you to buy something in the dark. It’s best to wait till day, and to look over the goods in the light.
