From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.

The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.

But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.

Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.

Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.

You feel full up with all the love around you.  In fact, you might even be a little overwhelmed with how much you care and how loved you feel.

This is a happy time to be with your family or friends, or whoever it is that makes up your social community.

You’re probably nearing the end of an important emotional phase.  Taking the time now to recognize and be grateful for all you have will help prepare you for the beginning of the next stage of your journey.

Celebrate with your loved ones, remembering with joy and humour all the good and not so good days that brought you to where you are now.

In honour of another visit from my friend and colleague, Kitty Tangelo (a powerful reader in his own right) … today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is The Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot by Alex Ukolow and Karen Mahoney. It was published by Magic Realist Press/Baba Studios in 2011.

5 Points About This Deck

1. Cat-centric: I’ll start with the obvious … as one should expect, The Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot is full of cats. All the central characters are Baroque Bohemian Cats, and each and every one of them is fantastic.
2. 79 Cards: Instead of the traditional 78 cards, the Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot has one extra – The Fortune Teller. The Fortune Teller is a majestic and mystical black feline, clearly in touch with the psychic realm. You can use this card as a significator, or a simple representation of perfect virtue (ha ha … Tangelo told me to say that last part about virtue, I don’t really believe it)
3. Artwork: Warm, rich, luxurious … and of course very baroque. And did I mention the cats? Photographic manipulation, not actual cats in costumes, was used to create the images in this deck. It was all digital magic, and as such, the creators of this deck warn ‘Please don’t try really dressing any cat, they don’t like it!” (For the most part, I’d agree with that, but I have a copy of Fashion Cats that suggests a different perspective …)
4. Readability: The Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot follows the classic RWS Tarot structure, so if you’re familiar with that, you’re already prepped for this deck. Not to mention, the images are strong and tell their own story, with or without knowing any system. If in doubt though, the Little White Book (LWB) provides helpful direction.
5. Major Arcana: Though all 22 of the traditional Major Arcana cards are represented (plus one, the above-mentioned Fortune Teller) … none of the Majors have numbers on the cards. They’re numbered in the LWB, just not on the cards themselves. This doesn’t change much, just thought I’d mention it.

All in all, I love this deck! And it comes in a good box, strong, sturdy, and opens from the side.

And one more thing … while looking at the Bohemian Cats’ website, I noticed that a new Bohemian Cats’ Tarot is in the works … The Bohemian Cats’ Theatre Tarot. You know I’m going to want that.

New energy and general enthusiasm are your gifts for today.  It’s time to start moving towards your dreams.

It might be just the beginning, but you have to start somewhere and you have the energy and passion to do it right now.  Why wait?

There’s a sense that the truth can be explained, understood and incorporated into daily life. Rules can and should be followed.

Instead of trying to force others to recognize what you know to be certain, try using this time to simply share your emotional, intellectual and spiritual perceptions.

Celebrate the diversity of spirit in our world, while figuring out for yourself what rules, spiritual or otherwise, work best for you.

2 of Swords

This is a day to take your time and think things through – calmly and quietly. Trust your inner voice and let silence be your friend. There’s probably a lot of emotion behind your thoughts these days. Try to keep balance.

Make sure you’re not overthinking things. It’s all about listening to both your logic and your intuition. Both have something to say to you right now. Try not to let your emotions sweep you away or your thoughts crush you down. You’ll know what to do when you need to do it. No need to act right now, just sit.

Mental peace is the energy you’ll discover in your quietude. Keep still. Keep calm. Your thoughts may be heavy, but you’re more than strong enough to hold them.

If you’re learning Tarot and feel comfortable with the meanings of each card, but have some trouble telling a story when you have multiple cards in a spread, try this exercise …

Lay out your spread, then for each card, choose one key word. Put those words into a sentence related to your question. For example …

Question: How will my interview with Mandy likely go today?

Pull 3 Cards:
8 Disks: key word – Steady work
Emperor: key word – Boss/Mandy
6 Wands: key word – Victory/Win

Sentence: Meeting with the boss, Mandy, to discuss steady work will likely be a win.

You can play around with the structure of your sentence, and maybe even update your keywords as you see things coming together, but keeping it simple is always best.

Here’s another example using the same cards but with a different question, and two new key words …

Question: I’d like some advice for my interview with Mandy today

8 Disks: key word – Reliability/Work Ethic
Emperor: key word – Boss/Mandy
6 Wands: key word – Success

Sentence: For likely success in the interview, highlight your work ethic and reliability to the boss, Mandy.

Starting off with smaller spreads is easier, but with practice, you’ll soon be comfortable with larger spreads as well. Give it a try!

Celebrate with enthusiasm!  Today is for fun and sharing. Friends are at the forefront, especially the ladies in your life.

Good times, good friends, good drink – it could be a pretty excellent day.  Don’t be afraid to be happy and remember to let people know how much you like them.

Take delight in music, poetry, painting – this is a time of inspiration and creativity.  Social interaction with others will be invigorating and fruitful.

Let yourself get carried away by laughter and joy.  Seek out the beautiful within yourself and those around you.  You won’t be disappointed if you do.

The Sun moves into Virgo tomorrow and will be there until September 22nd.

If we look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun child is wearing the Hermit’s clothing. He’s tucked his curls into a cowl and is wandering in the snow.

The Sun in Virgo, or the Sun child dressed in the Hermit’s clothing is a time of enthusiastic order, and wisdom laid bare.

Enjoy learning, digging up the details, and brightening old ways of doing things with fresh insight.

Tie up loose strings, finish outstanding projects, and gather the information you’re going to need for the next stage of your journey.

In a phrase – get organized! There’s energy to do it now that can make the process a pleasure rather than a chore.

And don’t worry if you’re not moving as fast as you might normally. Take your time. We can miss so much when we hurry.
