#17 – The Star

Optimism and rejuvenation are the themes for the day.  Active generosity and compassion come easy so don’t hold back.  Give and you will receive.

Embrace the Universe’s capacity to provide you with what you need when you need it most.  That’s what miracles are and the Star is the goddess of miracles.

If things have been tough lately, now’s a time when you can finally lean back and take a bit of a break.  Surround yourself with as much beauty as you can.  It will help to replenish your soul.

Art, music, and the glory of the night sky are all worthy subjects of meditation.  Let them fill you with the inspiration you need for the next leg of your journey.

Card Compare – The Moon

Today’s Tarot Card Compare looks at 3 versions of Tarot’s Moon card.

The first is from Emily Carding’s Tarot of the Sidhe. The second is from The Muse Tarot by Chris-Anne. And the third is from the Rider-Waite-Smiith Tarot by Arthur Waite and Pamela Colman Smith.

How are themes of facing our fears, mystery, reflection, and the unknown represented in each of these cards. How are they similar? What sets each apart?

I fall easily into each of these images. Do you have a favourite?

Tarot Card of the Day Queen of Cups

Saturday, April 5, 2025
Queen of Cups

The energy today is full of nurturance and love.  Let yourself give and receive.  Share your feelings, your dreams and what it is that makes you human.  Let your imagination run away with you (while holding on to reality if you can).

The Queen of Cups loves romance and laughter and beauty in all its forms.  Take a leap into your emotional depths.  Don’t be afraid, you won’t stay under too long.  This Queen understands emotional limits – how to push them and how to pull them back gently without hurting anyone’s feelings.

Today would be a great day to enjoy the company of loved ones. Or call or write them – one way or another, be sure they know you care.

Tarot Card of the Day - #21 The World

#21 – The World

Dance and enjoy!  You deserve to celebrate after a long journey.  A phase in your life is coming to a close – it might be big, but it’s not scary.

This is a good day to reflect on what’s been happening in your life over the last long while.  Where were your successes and what would you rather leave behind?  How did all the little stories turn into a whole big narrative?

Review, laugh and maybe even cry, but don’t carry old burdens with you going forward.  Be free and open and willing to be vulnerable.  You’ve done what you can.  It’s time now to simply rejoice in your own little slice of the universe.  You’ll have plenty of time to plan your next step tomorrow.

Moon in Cancer – High Priestess Dressed as the Charioteer

The High Priestess dressed as the Chariot

The Moon moves into Cancer today, and stays there until Sunday.

Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, you might describe it as the High Priestess dressed in the clothing of the Charioteer. She’s left the safety of her pillars and veil, and has hit the road.

The Moon in Cancer, or the High Priestess dressed as the Charioteer, can be a powerful time of comfortable change and emotional resilience.

Knowledge gathered in silence has coalesced and it’s time to share without fear of being hurt.

Emotional loyalty, intuitive direction and strength of character can give you the resolve to go forward. Even into the unknown.

Try not to coddle yourself. You can only win if you have the courage to play to the end.

Tarot Card of the Day, #7 The Chariot by Georgianna

#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

Rock Art Tarot – a deck review

Rock Art Tarot by Jerry Reopen

Today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is the Rock Art Tarot created by Jerry Reopen, and published back in 1996/97 by US Games Systems, Inc.

6 Points About This Deck:

  1. Concept: Jerry Roelen depicts and adapts rock art images found in petroglyphs, pictographs, and intaglios from around the world and associates them with Tarot archetypes.
  2. Artwork: If you appreciate the raw energy of rock art, you’ll probably like the images in this deck – I find them mesmerizing … and the bold, bright colouring really brings them to life (and adds a little fun.)
  3. Major Arcana: Many of the names of the Major Arcana are different than most decks, though they do follow basic tradition. Some examples – The Fool is Innocence, the Magician is Illusion, the Hermit is Meditation, and the Devil is Deception
  4. Minor Arcana: Suits of the Minor Arcana are different than most decks as well … instead of the Suits of Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentacles, there are the Suits of Intellect, Intuition, Emotion, and Sensation
  5. Court Cards: Instead of King, Queen, Knight, and Page, there’s Mankind, Womankind, Defender, and Peacemaker
  6. Readability: Despite the non-traditional elements of the Rock Tarot, between the evocative imagery, key words written on each card, and the comprehensive guide book (or even the little white book if there isn’t a full guide book), these cards are pretty easy to read. Or at least they make clear the energies and emotions around any spread you might pull.

All in all, I really like this deck. If you come across a copy, take a look.

Tarot Card of the Day King of Disks by Georgianna

King of Disks

Physically things will likely be pretty good today.  You’re probably feeling strong and have enough of everything that you really need.  You might even have more than enough and can give some away.

If you do, take advantage of this period to be generous.  You’ve done wonderfully in building your world, see if you can help someone else do the same.

Prosperity and stability are highlighted.   Enjoy the fruits of your labour.  It’s been your steady steps and sometimes less than exciting work that has brought you to where you are.  Good work.

Moon in Gemini – High Priestess Dressed as the Lovers’ Angel

Moon in Gemini - high priestess as the lovers' angel

The Moon moves into Gemini today and will stay there until Thursday.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.

The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.

But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.

Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.

Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.
