#2 – The High Priestess

This is a good day to give your spirit some serious attention.  Take a little time by yourself to think about what it is that you believe.  What do you think of the world and your place in it?  What ultimately gives your life meaning?

It’s also a good time right now to pay attention to the messages other people have been sending you.   Let yourself absorb the world around you without feeling the need to jump in right away and take action.  This is a better time to sit and receive than to act.

Observe, listen and think about what it is you’re doing.  Through reflection you’ll start to see all sides.  Through this wider perspective you’ll find the priorities and direction that can help you on your path.

Today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is another new one. It’s I Tarocchi Dei Gatti Bianchi, or The Tarot of White Cats, by Sofia di Vincenzo and Severino Baraldi. It was published by Lo Scarabeo in 2023.

5 Points About This Deck

1. Theme: It’s a cat themed deck, and as a Leo I approve. You might catch a glimpse of a few other species, but this is definitely a deck of cats, most of them white.
2. 8/11: The Tarot of White Cats numbers Justice as #8, and Strength as #11 following the Thoth and Marseille sequencing.
3. Tarot Style: Other than the 8/11 numbering mentioned above, The Tarot of White Cats is very much a Rider-Waite-Smith clone. The images each tell their own clear story, and if you’re familiar with the RWS deck, you’ll have no trouble understanding the main concepts in this one.
4. Languages: My copy is from Italy, so that’s why it’s titled I Tarocchi Dei Gatti Bianchi, but being a Lo Scarabo release, the guide book has instructions in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese. The titles on the cards are also in all six languages.
5. Artwork: Adorable, bright, cheery, and cute. It’s an RWS clone, but it’s sweeter, pinker, and has a lot more cats.

If you like cats, you’ll probably like this deck. I sure do.

#0 – The Fool

This is a great day to take the leap and do something different.  It might seem crazy and you have no idea how it’s going to turn out, or maybe even how you got on this path in the first place, but here you are.  It’s time to make your move and do so without fear.

The Fool card isn’t telling you to be an idiot, but rather to stop double thinking yourself all the time and worrying that every single thing is in order before you can make a move.

Life isn’t really that logical.  There’s no way to prepare for all eventualities, no matter how smart you are.  Do what you can and let the universe take care of the bigger story.

The Moon moves into Libra today, and will stay there until Saturday.

Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is wearing Justice’s clothing. She takes on the mantle of the Karmic Decider.

With the High Priestess as Justice, or the Moon in Libra, we might be required to face up to something and decide.

Our emotions will demand respect. If we’ve leaned too far back or forward, we’ll probably find ourselves moving just as dramatically the other way.

It can be a slightly challenging period, perhaps a little manic. But by the time it’s done, something is likely to have been decided upon.

Don’t be alarmed by conflicting emotions. They’re there because you can see both sides. It’s not good enough though to just acknowledge them and walk away.

During this transit you’re being asked to take a stand one way or another. And you’ve got the wisdom and power to do so.

#17 – The Star

Optimism and rejuvenation are the themes for the day.  Active generosity and compassion come easy so don’t hold back.  Give and you will receive.

Embrace the Universe’s capacity to provide you with what you need when you need it most.  That’s what miracles are and the Star is the goddess of miracles.

If things have been tough lately, now’s a time when you can finally lean back and take a bit of a break.  Surround yourself with as much beauty as you can.  It will help to replenish your soul.

Art, music, and the glory of the night sky are all worthy subjects of meditation.  Let them fill you with the inspiration you need for the next leg of your journey.

Today’s Tarot Card Compare looks at 3 versions of the 5 of Wands.

The first card is from the Tarot of the III Millennium by Iassen Ghiuselevv. The second is from the Picture Postcard Tarot by Marcia McCord. And the third card is from the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot by Arthur Waite and Pamela Colman Smith.

How are themes of rivalry, competition, fiery interaction, and/or the need for compromise expressed in each image? How are they similar? How is each unique?

The Tarot of the III Millennium is certainly the outlier within this group. Sensuality, or maybe even enticement, seems to be its focus. Very different than the other two.

#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

The Moon moved into Virgo and will be there until Wednesday.

From a Tarot perspective, you might think of this transit as the High Priestess wearing the Hermit’s clothes. She’s putting on her cowl.

The Moon in Virgo, or High Priestess in the Hermit’s clothing, is a time for practical, quiet reflection. Seeking the advice of an expert, and listening carefully to what they have to say could be worthwhile.

Or maybe someone will be asking you for your advice.

Your home is more important now than the outside world. Start thinking how to make it more practical. You might not be ready to do the work just yet, but this is a great time to plan.

Emotionally, it’s a time of calm. Perfect for listening and reflecting rather than acting out in passion. Take your time. There’s no rush.

Study, organization, contemplation, solitude, emotional self-reflection. Don’t be afraid to be alone right now. There’s lot’s to do on your own.

Victory is finally at hand. You’ve won the game and everyone’s cheering. It wasn’t always easy so the win is that much sweeter.

Have a good time and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard to master.

Your good fortune probably has a lot to do with staying true to your heart. Keep it up.

This isn’t an unexpected gift from the skies, it’s acknowledgement for doing something special.
