#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough.  More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

2012 and the Chariot

January 2nd, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

It’s more political than it is oracular, but the episode of Rap News by The Juice Media posted below is kind of funny.

It’s an entertaining and irreverent look at the hoopla surrounding the year 2012, making fun of both the ‘mystics’ and the ‘realists’.

Will the end of the Mayan calendar mean anything more than the end of our own calendar every 365 days? I doubt it.

#7 The Chariot from the Rider Waite Smith Tarot

Though I expect it’ll be an interesting year ahead, I don’t think that the world is facing an apocalypse, at least no more than it normally is.

The card I pulled when I asked about 2012 was #7, the Chariot.

It suggests change, but that we’re moving steadily forward. This card often recommends working hard and persevering with determination.

It’s not an easy energy, but it’s one that indicates strength and a willingness to keep going.

After all is said and done, the Charioteer typically represents victory. Primarily because he doesn’t give up when he hits a rough patch on the hi-way.

Let’s all have as smooth a ride this year as possible.

And if we see anyone needing help by the side of the road, why not give them a hand.

A December Message from The Kitchen Tarot

The Kitchen Tarot by Susan Shie, guidebook by Dennis Fairchild

The Kitchen Tarot

Look at the video below for an excellent Tarot message for December, courtesy of Hay House and The Kitchen Tarot.

In the Kitchen Tarot, the Chariot card is the Rolling Pin. I’d never considered such an association before, but I think it’s pretty great.

The Chariot has traditionally represented steadfast warrior-like energy, and an ability to persevere and achieve success through hard-work and personal integrity.

Rolling Pin

The rolling pin might not be a warrior, but it’s long been depicted as a handy go-to weapon for women.

More importantly though, it’s used to roll through the bumps and lumps present in any project worth working on.

#7 The Chariot

It’s a strait-forward instrument, just a roller and some handles, but it’s the basic tool for creating everything from the hardiest of breads to the most delicate of pastries.

And of course, it rolls, like all good Chariots do.

The rest of the Kitchen Tarot looks just as fun. It’s a Majors only deck created by Susan Shie, with a guidebook by Dennis Fairchild.

Shie quilted each of the cards using a character she developed in 1998 called St. Quilta the Comforter.

St. Quilta is based on her mother, a nurse who studied natural healing, and obviously is the Queen of the Kitchen Tarot.

The deck is adorable, and the message of the Rolling Pin is excellent.

Keep rolling on through December and bake up something sweet.

A Golden Chariot

October 2nd, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

The Indian car maker Tata has turned one of the least expensive cars in the world into one of the most expensive.

While being amazed by this gold, silver, and jewel encrusted vehicle, I was of course reminded of the Tarot’s Chariot card.

The Charioteer is known for his willingness to work hard and conscientiously persevere in his quest for victory in both battle and life.

This particular Tata Nano is a good metaphor for the Chariot’s journey to success.

It started as a humble working folk car, but was transformed through the diligence of the Indian karigars into a Golden Chariot fit for the Gods.

It’s clearly impractical, but I like it.
