The Hanged Man

Not a whole lot happens in the video below, but given that’s it’s meant to represent The Hanged Man, that isn’t so surprising.

With The Hanged Man, it’s not so much about action and new experiences as it is about hanging tight and looking at things from a new perspective.

On that level, Le Pendu by Kim McGillivray perfectly fits the bill. Take a look

Check out this really excellent animated revue of the Major Arcana by Greg Carter. He spends just under a minute with each card and it’s absolutely fabulous!!

I’d love a deck with these images on it!

#17 The Star from the Rider Waite Smith Tarot

The Star

The Star card in the Tarot is one of my favourites. It’s full of hope, serenity and rejuvenation after the storm.

For me the figure pouring water is like Kuan Yin, healing us all with her infinite compassion.

And the stars in the card are especially nice. As Robert Place describes them, they’re the ‘celestial ladder of ascent’, a starry stairway to heaven.

One of my clients liked them so much she decided to put them on her body forever. She got herself a Tarot Star Tattoo. And it looks fabulous.

She was good enough to share a couple of pictures of her new Stars with us all. Take a look. I love them!

#12 – The Hanged Man

This isn’t the day for action.  It’s time to slow down and take a close look at what’s been going on. And if you can do it from a different perspective – great!   Choose a comfortable place to relax and review what you’ve been up to.  It might seem like a sacrifice, but it’s well worth it.

Are there patterns in your life that seem to becoming more obvious than usual? This is a wonderful time to pay attention to how you’re life’s been going these last three months or so.  Does it remind you of another time – maybe 12 years ago?

Look carefully at any people, places or things from your past (or that remind you of the past) that might unexpectedly appear. They might be highlighting particular areas in your life you’re repeating. Is it a repetition you’re happy with?

After you’ve done some review, start thinking about where you want to go next.  Your old ways are almost over.  Think about the new patterns you want to develop – you’ll be ready to start them soon enough.  For now, relax, review and let yourself imagine?
