Symbolic Tarot

Here’s an interesting overview discussion on Tarot by Nicole Nurenberg in a Studios of Key West lecture called The Symbolic Language of Tarot – SLIDESHOW 2015 @TSKW.

I especially like how she describes the Tarot as a “pictorial alphabet of the human experience.” That’s how I see it as well.

If you’re a magical art lover who happens to be in New York City sometime between January 12th and February 13th, you might want to check out Language of the Birds: Occult and Art.

Drawing the Lovers

I’ve always liked time-lapse drawing, and when it’s Tarot that’s being drawn, I like it even more!

Take a look at this Lovers drawing by Daniel Clee. And if you want to see him draw other cards from the deck, check out his website at danielclee.com.

And by the way, drawing your cards (even if you’re no good at it) is an excellent way to get to know them really well.

David Stoupakis and menton3 are putting together a two-man show called The Kindly Ones, opening at the Last Rites Gallery in New York City in July 2015.

Below is a video of the two artists working on one of the pieces for the show that’s based on Tarot’s Justice card. It’s pretty amazing.

If you’re interested in learning more about the show, and the book they’ll be releasing at the same time, please visit The Kindly Ones Kickstarter project page.
