Have you ever felt like wearing your favourite Tarot card? If so, now’s your chance. Australia’s Living Dead Clothing has started a new Tarot line, and apparently, they’ll be showcasing a different card each week. Visit the Living Dead website to see what they’ve got.
And check out the video below to see what the Queen of Pentacles looks like as active wear.
I just love it when Tarot inspires fashion! Take a look at the video below of the Luck Winter 2013 Fashion Space by Marcio Madeira.
The whole collection is beautiful and worth seeing, but the Tarot designs start appearing at about the 4:00 minute mark, with more further in at about 6:00 minutes and beyond.
I’d just love to have some of these dresses. Lady Frieda Harris’ images from the Thoth Tarot have never looked so chic.
Take a look at the video below to hear fashion designer Nanette Lepore talk about how dandies, Oscar Wilde, and the Tarot inspired her 2012/2013 autumn/winter collection.
Lepore said the fluid iconic imagery in the Tarot influenced her prints, as did the bold colours.
She says she’s been learning about the cards lately and even had hers read in preparation for her latest show.
The clothes are simply gorgeous. And like the cards, both beautiful and yet remarkably practical.
I think the ladies of the Tarot would approve. I certainly do.
Tarot and fashion meet again – this time in handbags. The Italian fashion company Furla has just introduced a new line of handbags inspired by imagery from the Tarot.
From what I can see, the Ace of Cups is the featured pattern, but there are also designs that involve the Moon, and a Knight.
The designs aren’t from any deck I recognize, but they’re sweet.
The Ace is made up of three houses that look like little bird-houses, and there’s lots of roses all around them.
The knight doesn’t seem to have a particular suit but he’s standing atop an orange tiger-like creature so I’ll call him the Knight of Wands.
Only the Moon appears traditional, and I only saw it in one design that also included what looked to be astrological imagery.
The bags don’t come cheap, ranging from €40 to €245. But with all those Aces of Cups, I can hardly resist.
What could be better than carrying around a stylish bag of new love?
