Sun in Pisces, the Sun Dressed in the Moon's Clothing

Sun as the Moon

The Sun moves into Pisces today and will stay there until March 20th.

Looking at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it’s like the Sun is wearing the Moon’s clothing. He’s still smiling, but most of him has been eclipsed.

The Sun is open, enthusiastic, and bright. He wants nothing more than a good time, and celebrations for all.

There’s nothing hidden with him. He’s bare as a baby, direct and clear, no artifice or masks. He’s unafraid because really he’s in charge, of himself at least, if no one else.

The Sun seeks freedom and awareness. His consciousness is clear, and his joy in living unbound. He’s victory over darkness, a retired warrior at play.

The Moon is quite different. She’s dark and moody, uncharted and unclear.

She feels her way around, sensing and emoting. And she’s not one for overt displays, you’re more likely to feel her power than see it.

The Moon is the unknown in all mysteries, she’s our deepest inner self. Though she’s more a mirror than a lantern, she can still guide our way.

The Sun is completely out of his element here, but he’s not afraid to dive in. It might be really dark, but he’s still going to shine.

The Sun in Pisces, or the Sun dressed as the Moon, is a time when what’s hidden is brought to light, and what’s been unconscious can suddenly be known.

Clarity is likely to arise from the haze and your own inner wisdom may be exposed.

So might be some elements of yourself and others you’re not as fond of, but at least now you can see what’s normally not so apparent.

Let your intuition guide you, and your dreams act as messages to help make you stronger.

It’s a powerful time when the Sun and Moon get together. Conflicted though it may be, it can open up a whole new world.

Sun in Aquarius, the Sun Dressed as The Star

the Sun as the Star

The Sun moves into Aquarius today and will be there until February 19th.

Looking at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun child is dressed as the Star. He’s as naked as he ever was, but now he’s a lady, and up past dark.

The Sun is exuberant and full of life. He’s child-like but not childish. He’s been through it all and has well earned the victory he enjoys.

Open and free, he has no boundaries but for those he makes himself. And he has nothing to hide, no shame, no secrets. The Sun exposes it all.

The Sun is exactly what he seems to be, simple and clear, and enthusiastic about every new day.

The Star is made of the same stuff as the Sun, but she’s much more quiet, and more nurturing than joyous.

She too is open and unashamed to bare her truth. Her focus though is on healing, rejuvenation, and bringing hope into the dark night.

The Star is grounded and balanced, but very attuned to how emotions play. And she knows exactly what’s needed to bring peace to any troubled soul.

The Sun is comfortable in the role of the Star. Though he has to tone it down a bit, he loves shining at night.

The Sun in Aquarius, or the Sun dressed as the Star, is a time of active grace, perfect for healing and emotional renewal.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to dream, and to allow yourself a ray of optimism, especially if the going’s been a little rough lately.

Trust yourself, and the universe. It’s not out to get you. In fact, it wants to help.

Find your flow and don’t be afraid of letting your feelings spill out. You might have needed to for a while now.

And if there was ever a time to wish upon a star, this is it. She’s listening.

Sun in Capricorn – Sun in the Devil's Clothing

Sun in Capricorn, or the Sun Dressed in the Devil's Clothing

The Sun as the Devil

The Sun moves into Capricorn today, and will stay there until January 20th.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the Sun child is dressed as the Devil. He’s gotten hairy and has gone underground.

In his element, the Sun is joyous exuberance unfettered by boundaries. He’s made it beyond the wall and is victorious after a long dark journey.

Everything is open now, there’s nothing to hide. He bares it all and asks us to do the same.

The Sun’s lesson is to celebrate and to laugh. Each morning is new and each day another chance to enjoy and live fully.

The Devil has a very different energy about him. He’s dark and somber, some might even say scary.

He’s an obsessive type, engaged fully in the material world. He’s physicality at its most profound, holding issues of spirit at arm’s length.

The Devil likes control and boundaries, and doesn’t trust the light in anyone’s hand but his own. He promises to get things done, but he has to be the one in charge.

The Sun has fun everywhere he goes, even the Devil’s lair. He lightens it up a bit, and gets everyone smiling.

The Sun in Capricorn, or the Sun dressed in the Devil’s clothing, is a good time to look at areas in your life that feel restrictive, whether from the outside, or from within.

If you feel chained, unchain yourself. But if you like your chains, then just enjoy. Be aware though that you’re the one to choose.

Serious play, or structured freedom is also highlighted during this transit. And that makes sense with the holidays.

You might not be working at your regular job, but you’re not completely free either.

There’s an obligation to celebrate, whether you want to or not. And since that’s the case, you might as well dive in and enjoy this time for all it’s worth.

Work hard and play hard, but try not to take any of it too seriously.

Sun in Sagittarius, Sun Dressed in Temperance's Clothing

Sun as Temperance

The Sun moves into Sagittarius today and will be there until December 22nd.

If we look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun is dressed as Temperance. He’s done up like an angel and is playing with water.

The Sun is bright, clear, and full of joy. He rides his horse carrying the flag of victory because he’s made it through the night and has won the day.

The shadows are gone while the Sun shines full. Nothing is hidden, it’s all on full view. And that’s how he likes it best.

There’s power in being open and willing to be seen. And the Sun is fully aware of his strength, though he’d rather play than fight.

His joy in living is what keeps him looking so young and sweet. But he’s really an old soul in a baby’s body, and the biggest star in the sky.

Temperance is an angel. He’s divine balance and a master of perfect flow.

His magic is in his command of the elements. He knows how to make water support his weight and flow in magical directions. And water, like emotions, aren’t always so easy to tame.

But Temperance isn’t just good with water, he’s able to connect all the elements with the higher dimensions. He blends them in a beautiful harmony and makes it seem easy.

The Sun likes being in this position. He’s normally shining on the horizon in the back. Now he has a chance to be up front, and he likes how his feather matches his wings.

The Sun in Sagittarius, or the Sun dressed as Temperance, is a time of energetic harmony and balanced enthusiasm.

Use it to expose any imbalances that might be tilting you off kilter and gently readjust as required.

Have fun with the world around you, and be open to connections beyond the five senses. Preconceived ideas of what’s possible will only hold you back.

We can’t always see divine energy at play. Then the Sun shines just right and a rainbow appears.

Sun in Scorpio, Sun Dressed in Death's Clothing

Sun Dressed As Death

The Sun moves into Scorpio today and will be there until November 22nd.

If you look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun is dressed in Death’s clothing. He’s still on his horse, but he’s much more covered up than usual.

The Sun child is bright, cheerful, and on the hunt for fun. Never dull and always moving, he keeps the energy high and alive.

The Sun can be blinding at times, but inspiring as well, a true life force.

He’s open and innocent and hides nothing. There’s no charades with him, what you see is what you get.

Death is quite different, moving around in the dusk, all covered in black metal. He’s interested in what’s hidden, what might be growing in the depths.

Transformation happens in the muck, or the deepest part of the ocean, or in the times in our lives when things seem the darkest.

Death’s energy clears through stagnation, and begins the process of change and renewal.

This might not be where we’d expect to find the Sun, but he likes to go everywhere, and is more than happy to keep the light on as night falls.

The Sun in Scorpio, or the Sun dressed in Death’s clothing, is a period that highlights change, quite literally lighting it up.

It’s a great time to bring clarity to issues usually too deep or dark to properly understand.

What you see might not be pretty, but it could be a powerful motivator.

Dig on into the muck and don’t be afraid to get dirty. Play around even, the dark can be as fun as the light.

Sun in Libra – The Sun Dressed in Justice's Clothing

Sun in Libra, Sun in Justice's Clothing

Sun as Justice

The Sun moves into Libra today and will stay there until October 23.

Through the eyes of the Tarot, this transit is like the Sun Child is dressed in Justice’s clothing.

The Sun is joy, light and celebration. He’s a child at play, open and delighting in everything he sees.

Clarity is a big part of the joy. After an oppressive darkness, illumination is finally at hand, and the world doesn’t seem as scary as it did last night.

The Sun exposes all it passes over, uncovering secrets and hidden faces. And though there’s always a risk of burning, being kissed by his light is heaven itself.

Justice appreciates the Sun’s ability to expose, but she isn’t as keen on his persistent call to celebrate. Issues of fairness first need to be addressed.

Balance, alignment, and constant adjustments are her focus. If the scale leans too far one way, she’ll even things up.

She wants order, and has the authority to enforce it. But her laws are cosmic; so don’t expect that just following the rules is enough to win her game.

The Sun in Libra, or the Sun Child dressed as Justice, is a period of enthusiastic equilibrium, a time to energize by rebalancing.

Karma is exposed, and cause and effect are more obvious than usual. It’s a great time to figure out what effects you’d like to cause going forward.

There’s power in restraint, and in letting go. The creative process needs both, not too much, not too little.

The trick, of course, is getting the balance just right. Use this month to figure out yours, and shine while you’re doing it.

Sun Dressed in the Hermit's Clothing - Sun in Virgo

The Sun moves into Virgo today and will be there until September 23rd.

If we look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun child is wearing the Hermit’s clothing. He’s tucked his curls into a cowl and is wandering in the snow.

The Sun is bright light and enthusiasm. Its brilliance is our source of life, and in the Tarot it means that the journey’s almost done. It’s time to celebrate before moving on.

The Sun child wants to play, wants to throw off all limitations and enjoy. It doesn’t matter what the party’s for, it just has to be fun.

Nothing is hidden, no secrets, no clothes. There’s no room for being shy, and no fear of trying everything. Optimism is as big as the day.

Very different is the Hermit. He’s old, and gray and lives in the dark, though he does carry a little sun with him wherever he goes.

His wisdom comes through experience, a long life and a willingness to turn inward, facing his shadows and his past.

The Hermit is not without humour, but he’ll typically pass on a party. He’s been to many in his time. Now he enjoys being alone.

The Sun child is keen wherever he is, and though he’s not accustomed to the snow, the dark, or the heavy garments, he’s willing to give it a go with a smile.

The Sun in Virgo, or the Sun child dressed in the Hermit’s clothing is a time of enthusiastic order, and wisdom laid bare.

Enjoy learning, digging up the details, and brightening old ways of doing things with fresh insight.

Tie up loose strings, finish outstanding projects, and gather the information you’re going to need for the next stage of your journey.

In a phrase – get organized. There’s energy to do it now that can make the process a pleasure rather than a chore.

And don’t worry if you’re not moving as fast as you might normally. Take your time. We can miss so much when we hurry.

Sun in Leo - Sun in Strength's Clothing

Sun as Strength

The Sun moves into Leo today, and stays there until August 23.

If we look at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it’s like the Sun Child is dressed in Strength’s clothing. He’s traded in his horse for a lion, and has thrown on a light gown.

The Sun is victory, exuberance and unbridled joy. The naked child has made it through the night and can’t wait to celebrate.

Nothing is hidden because there’s nothing to hide. Shadows disappear, whether we want them to or not.

The Sun announces the end of a long cycle. It’s the promised harvest after a season of toil.

Strength is pretty sunny herself, enjoying the golden sky as she plays with her lion.

The maiden is in control, innocence conquering brute power. She doesn’t need to force anything. It’s finding the flow that matters most.

Strength is the ego uninhibited by conventionalities, but under the firm reign of compassion and love.

The Sun is particularly comfortable in the position of Strength. He’s right at home with the weather, and very much enjoys playing with the King of the Jungle.

The Sun in Leo, or the Sun dressed in Strength’s clothing is a time to shine. Even if you want to hide, there won’t be many dark corners to crawl into.

Creative energies are high, as is the confidence to share what you create.

Don’t be shy. As long as you keep your ego in check, it will be hard to go wrong.

Let openness and enthusiasm rule whatever it is you’re engaged in. There’s a lot of power in play, so enjoy.

Sun in Cancer – The Sun Dressed as the Charioteer

Sun Dressed in the Charioteer's Clothing - Sun in Cancer

Sun Dressed as the Charioteer

The Sun moves into Cancer today, and stays there until July 23rd.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the Sun is dressed as the Charioteer. He’s put on some armour and exchanged his horse for a chariot and a couple of sphinxes.

The Sun is sunshine. He’s enthusiasm, joy and visibility. He’s warmth, freedom and victory.

He’s a child who’s not really a child, but a soul that’s been on the road for a very long time, and his destination is finally in view.

The Sun only seems young in that he’s open, unattached and looking to play. But if we look a little deeper, we see that he’s actually the source of life, the innocent infinity within us all.

The Chariot has also been on the road a while. But when the Charioteer travels, he shields himself from the sun with his starry canopy, and wears reflective moons as his lapels.

He’s a soldier, capable of both aggression and defense. He’s carried forward by the power of his convictions, and by commitments he made back home.

The Charioteer doesn’t give up. He’s determined to complete whatever task is before him, and he typically does it well.

The Sun is always up for adventure, so he feels all right in this position. Though forced to cover up more than he’s accustomed to, he’s enthusiastic about getting out on the road.

The Sun in Cancer, or the Sun dressed as the Charioteer, is a time when the fight might not seem as important as the journey. And it might be more productive to play a little than to battle.

It’s a period of strength, vitality and the will to succeed. Use it to push through emotional blocks, or attitudes that may have been holding you back.

And get back to work on any projects you’ve been letting languish. Perseverance should be the word of the month.

But try looking at what you have to do as a game, rather than a taxing burden. As long as you keep playing, you’ll be winning.

Sun in Gemini – Sun in the Clothes of the Lovers' Angel

May 20th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Sun as the Lovers' Angel

Sun as the Lover's Angel

The Sun moved into Gemini today and stays there until June 21st.

Through the eyes of the Tarot, this transit is like the Sun is wearing the clothes of the Lovers’ Angel. He’s thrown on a robe and donned some wings.

The Sun is the light. He’s unfocused joy, liberation and freedom. There’s no need for clothes because there’s no need to hide.

He’s the dawn after a long, shadowy night. Clarity and enthusiasm after confusion and fear.

The Sun is victory and power embodied in a child.

The Lovers are two opposites coming together. They’re two sides of one coin. Vulnerable, yet welcoming, they’re naked and unashamed.

Relating, communicating and trying to decide are what they do best. They’re inspired to know everything they can. And to share what they discover.

The Lovers are commitment. They commit to each other, and more importantly to themselves. When they say ‘I do’, they mean it.

The Sun is happy in this position, maybe a little more restrained than usual, but comfortable. His horse has become his robes, and his red flag has turned into wings.

The Sun above him shines almost as bright as he’s used to. And of course he’s got no problem with nudity.

The Sun in Gemini, or the Sun wearing the clothes of the Lovers’ Angel, is an excellent time to see all sides of a situation. And a good time to keep your mind open wide to inspiration.

When you do make a decision, it’s one that should stick. Or at least, it should be taken seriously.

If there are any issues that need working through, let them out for review. Clarity is at a high and the big picture is easy to see.

Is there something in your life that needs to be united? How about severed? It could go either way, or some way you didn’t expect at all.

Stay flexible, but serious, joyful and sincere. Love and sensitivity flourish as the Sun commits to a brand new season.
