The Sun moves into Sagittarius today and will be there until December 22nd.
If we look at this transit from a Tarot perspective, it would be like the Sun is dressed as Temperance. He’s done up like an angel and is playing with water.
The Sun is bright, clear, and full of joy. He rides his horse carrying the flag of victory because he’s made it through the night and has won the day.
The shadows are gone while the Sun shines full. Nothing is hidden, it’s all on full view. And that’s how he likes it best.
There’s power in being open and willing to be seen. And the Sun is fully aware of his strength, though he’d rather play than fight.
His joy in living is what keeps him looking so young and sweet. But he’s really an old soul in a baby’s body, and the biggest star in the sky.
Temperance is an angel. He’s divine balance and a master of perfect flow.
His magic is in his command of the elements. He knows how to make water support his weight and flow in magical directions. And water, like emotions, aren’t always so easy to tame.
But Temperance isn’t just good with water, he’s able to connect all the elements with the higher dimensions. He blends them in a beautiful harmony and makes it seem easy.
The Sun likes being in this position. He’s normally shining on the horizon in the back. Now he has a chance to be up front, and he likes how his feather matches his wings.
The Sun in Sagittarius, or the Sun dressed as Temperance, is a time of energetic harmony and balanced enthusiasm.
Use it to expose any imbalances that might be tilting you off kilter and gently readjust as required.
Have fun with the world around you, and be open to connections beyond the five senses. Preconceived ideas of what’s possible will only hold you back.
We can’t always see divine energy at play. Then the Sun shines just right and a rainbow appears.
Were you thinking of starting something new? This is the time to do it. The energy of The Magician encourages you to start fresh.
Look around – I bet you have all the tools you need for this new enterprise. It’s only up to you to start making things happen.
Name your goal and start listing the steps you need to get there. Especially important is that first step. It can be big or small – just take it! You’re at the very beginning right now, don’t let the long journey ahead dissuade you from going forward.
You can’t go back, so what the heck? Focus on what it is you want to achieve and you can make anything happen.
Beware though, don’t try fooling yourself or others, there’s no need for deception. It will only lead you down the wrong road right from the start. Stay true to your plan and keep yourself focused.
You can do what you need to without resorting to trickery or lies. It’ll work out much better in the long run if you stick to the truth.
Through their Toronto Tarot Portal, he and James Wells do regular podcasts on a wide variety of tarot related topics. And they’re very good.
The Art of Tarot is looking towards the future of Tarot, though it’s clearly inspired by traditions of the past. The pieces are fabulous, I’d love to see them in a deck.
Most are paintings or drawings, but there’s also a sculpture, a stained glass window, and even a quilt. I’ve got to get over there and see them myself.
The show runs through the end of November, but the gallery is only open Wednesday through Saturday. Get there if you can.
And to whoever left the postcard in my front door, thank you!
The Moon moved into Libra today, and will stay there until Wednesday.
Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is wearing Justice’s clothing. She takes on the mantle of the Karmic Decider.
With the High Priestess as Justice, or the Moon in Libra, we might be required to face up to something and decide.
Our emotions will demand respect. If we’ve leaned too far back or forward, we’ll probably find ourselves moving just as dramatically the other way.
It can be a slightly challenging period, perhaps a little manic. But by the time it’s done, something is likely to have been decided upon.
Don’t be alarmed by conflicting emotions. They’re there because you can see both sides. It’s not good enough though to just acknowledge them and walk away.
During this transit you’re being asked to take a stand one way or another. And you’ve got the wisdom and power to do so.
The energy today is full of nurturance and love. Let yourself give and receive. Share your feelings, your dreams and what it is that makes you human. Let your imagination run away with you (while holding on to reality if you can).
The Queen of Cups loves romance and laughter and beauty in all its forms. Take a leap into your emotional depths. Don’t be afraid, you won’t stay under too long. This Queen understands emotional limits – how to push them and how to pull them back gently without hurting anyone’s feelings.
Today would be a great day to enjoy the company of loved ones. Or call or write them – one way or another, be sure they know you care.
I know I’ve said it before, but this time it’s really true. This afternoon, at a special time, Beyond Worlds will be joined by the incredible Rachel Pollack.
By combining a question, some cards, and the reader’s intuition, intellect, and imagination, Tarot can become a magical treasure map leading to the jewels of the soul.
And Rachel’s going to show us how to navigate our way. Join us!
We’ll be live in the chat room, or you can call in at (646) 200-0765.
It looks like it’ll be a sweet day. Open communication full of love and tenderness. This is a day to make sure you tell the people you love how much they mean to you.
If you’re starting a romantic relationship, or in one, it can be especially delicious. Be romantic and enjoy each other. It’s a time of beauty, peace and innocence, the reason we love love so much.
If you’re not feeling romantic, take the energy and let yourself simply express how much you care about those around you.
It will be most powerful if you tell them one-to-one. Let them know they’re special, it’ll make you feel great too.
I don’t know that anyone really thinks that acting like a cheesy psychic will help get you dates, but that’s the premise of the web tv episode of Digits posted below.
Benjamin Kanes’ cardboard sign, outfit, and strange accent didn’t help his cause much, but being a street psychic probably isn’t the best lure to love anyway.
The video is silly, and a ridiculous depiction of readers at work, but I have to admit I laughed a couple of times. And I liked how he was able to turn the Magician card into a pick-up line.
