Moon in Gemini – High Priestess Dressed as the Lovers' Angel

High Priestess dressed as Lovers' Angel

The Moon moves into Gemini today and will stay there until Thursday.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.

The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.

But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.

Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.

Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.

4 of Wands

Gather and celebrate!  It’s a day to enjoy what you’ve been working on.  The project might not yet be finished, but at least you’re on your way. Well done!  You have reason to smile.

Follow your passion and create from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how it will all turn out, just keep at it. The hard work’s been paying off, and you can take a moment to enjoy before heading on to the next step.

But don’t forget, you probably aren’t doing all the work yourself.  Share the glory or you’ll be hearing about it later.

Ace of Swords from the Smith Waite Tarot

Ace of Swords

Take a look at the video below of ballet dancers Marina Kanno and Giacomo Bevilaqua. Their performance is captured in slow motion at 1000 frames per second.

Directed by Simon Iannelli and Johannes Berger, the piece is called Le vent, or in English, the Wind.

It made me think of the Tarot suit of Swords whose element is air and rules all windy situations.

This dance is a beautiful depiction of the Sword cards at their finest – fresh, refined, elegant, and sophisticated.

Do it now!  It’s a fantastic day to get going on whatever project (especially a new one) you’ve been thinking about.  Opportunities abound for you to finally move forward with your plan.

Don’t be afraid if you think you can’t do it?  You’ve been spending plenty of time thinking about it.  Look close, you’ll see you have all you need to make it work.

The only thing that will slow you down is doing things the same old way.  Start fresh now.  You’re ready to go.

2 of Swords

This is a day to take your time and think things through – calmly and quietly. Trust your inner voice and let silence be your friend. There’s probably a lot of emotion behind your thoughts these days. Try to keep balance.

Make sure you’re not overthinking things. It’s all about listening to both your logic and your intuition. Both have something to say to you right now. Try not to let your emotions sweep you away or your thoughts crush you down. You’ll know what to do when you need to do it. No need to act right now, just sit.

Mental peace is the energy you’ll discover in your quietude. Keep still. Keep calm. Your thoughts may be heavy, but you’re more than strong enough to hold them.

Invisibility, Shape Shifting, and the Magician

March 24th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

#1 The Magician from the Smith Waite Tarot

Shape shifting and invisible cloaks? It sounds like the work of Tarot’s Magician, but according to Michio Kaku, science is developing both right now.

In the Big Think video below, Kaku says that work on invisibility is already quite advanced. And if that weren’t exciting enough, scientists have turned their attention to shape shifting.

It’s called programmable matter and the idea is that by replacing atoms with micro-chips, something that starts out as one thing could be transformed into something entirely different at the touch of a button.

It really does seem magical. And I’m tempted to say I’ll believe it when I see it, or in the case of invisibility, when I don’t.

But as the Magician himself teaches, to make things real, you need to believe in the vision, then focus your mind to bring it into being.

It looks like the scientists have learnt that lesson well. They’re magicians all.

Moon in Taurus – High Priestess in the Hierophant's Clothing

The High Priestess dressed as the Hierophant

High Priestess in Hierophant's Clothes

The Moon moves into Taurus today and stays there until Tuesday.

If you look at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Hierophant. She’s sitting before two acolytes and sharing the secrets she usually guards.

The Moon in Taurus, or High Priestess in the Hierophant’s clothes, is a time of spiritual and emotional certitude.

There’s a sense that the truth can be explained, understood and incorporated into daily life. Rules can and should be followed.

Instead of trying to force others to recognize what you know to be certain, try using this time to simply share your emotional, intellectual and spiritual perceptions.

Celebrate the diversity of spirit in our world, while figuring out for yourself what rules, spiritual or otherwise, work best for you.

Waiting and watching will probably be a bit of a preoccupation today.   You’ve begun the process and have done all you can for the moment.

This might be a good time to review the steps you’ve taken so far.  Make sure that you’ve got yourself balanced before the real journey begins.

Virtue is likely to be a key concept.  Virtue here means being true to yourself within and between all your layers – mind, body and spirit.

Are your emotions in line with your thinking?  Are you acting in a way that accurately reflects you’re beliefs and feelings?  Explore these questions and relax.  Your ship will arrive soon.

Playing With Fire

Page of Wands from the Smith Waite Tarot

Page of Wands

The Page of Wands is the youngest member of the Wand family. And compared to the Queen, King, and even the Knight, he’s a beginner, just learning how to control his element of fire. He’s a student on a path to mastery.

I got to thinking about this Page as I watched the James Hyde Steals the Show episode below. In it Hyde visits Adam Rinn, professor of the Sideshow School in Coney Island, and master Sword Swallower and Fire Eater.

Rinn teaches Hyde to both swallow flame and shoot it out of his mouth like a dragon. As you can see in the piece, the learning process isn’t always easy, but the results can be astounding.

10 of Swords Reversed from the Smith Waite Tarot

I also couldn’t help but notice that bed of nails Hyde had to lie on before he got to play with the fire.

It reminded me of the 10 of Swords reversed, and the idea that to learn anything new, you have to let go of old concepts that might be limiting your perspective on what’s possible.
