Vincent Gabriel Kirouac is on a quest to promote valour, chivalry, and all-around good mannered respect among people.
Starting from his hometown of Quebec City, Kirouac is riding his horse, Lionheart, across Canada – and in full Knight’s regalia no less!!
He’s crossing Saskatchewan right now, and from all accounts his message is being well received. At least people seem happy to feed and lodge both him and his horse.
And like Tarot’s Knight of Cups, Kirouac’s message is one of love. He wants to be a model of kindness, integrity, tolerance, and devotion.
He wants to remind everyone to be good to each other, and to show the world that there are plenty of wonderful people everywhere you go.
When he gets to Calgary, Kirouac will have to load Lionheart into a trailer and they’ll cross the Rockies by truck.
But from Richmond, BC, they’ll hit the ground again for the last 30-kilometer stretch to Vancouver’s Stanley Park.
Kirouac is hoping to pick up some fellow Knights for the last leg of the journey. Wouldn’t it be great if he gets a whole legion? I hope he does.
And again … we got the King of Swords just last Monday, but he’s back once more to close up the week ….
Clear rational thinking is at the fore today. Is there something you need to take control of? Have you been wavering and wishy-washy lately? Stop procrastinating.
Focus, take charge and get it done. Have the courage to be clear and rational. Cut through the fog and let logic rule the day.
You know who you are, you know what you want and you’re sure you deserve it. Go to it. But beware of dictating what’s best for those around you.
You might know how to take care of yourself, but let others take care of their own lives, their own way.
Mercury goes retrograde today and will be that way until August 7th.
From a Tarot perspective, it’s sort of like the Magician is running backwards, or at least he’s been considerably slowed down from his usual high-speed pace forward.
The Magician is a first rate communicator. His messages are typically clear, timely, and right on point.
And as a representative of communication in general, he’s also known for keeping information technology on-line, and travel and transport running smoothly.
But when he’s in retrograde, or going much, much slower than usual, the Magician’s usually perfectly delivered messages can get out of whack.
They can be ill-timed, murky, and address everything except the point at hand. Travel can also get kooky. And it’s wise to back up your digital files just in case …
But it’s really not all bad.
A slow-moving Magician gives us a chance to really dig into the details, and maybe even fix things that have been neglected till now because there just hasn’t been the time.
And if you’ve been forced to take the ‘scenic’ route on your way somewhere, try not to fret.
Wherever you find yourself, look around. There’s likely something on that path you really want to see that you would have missed had you taken your intended route.
Mercury in retrograde, or the Magician slowed way, way down, isn’t the same as the Magician reversed. He’s not on his head. He’s just looking back and taking his time with things.
This isn’t the best time to start fresh, or jump on new ideas, but it’s perfect for reading the fine print or figuring out why your account reconciliation isn’t balancing.
And if there are people or places you haven’t seen in a while, this is an ideal time to visit, call, or send a quick email. You might be surprised at how important a visit back can be to your future.
Expect delays and even some backtracking. And don’t be surprised if people say some unusual things. Know though that in the end it’s all good.
This is an opportunity to get things straight and organized, not a hindrance to what you want to do next.
When the Magician finally does start speeding up again on August 7th, you’ll be back in the fast lane, and stronger for the detour.
The Moon moves into Gemini today and will stay there until Tuesday.
From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.
The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.
But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.
Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.
Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.
I can hardly believe all these recurring cards … as you might remember, the Prince of Disks was with us just last week …
It’s a good time to get to work. Nothing exciting, just keep moving forward step by step. It’ll go a lot faster now that you’re seriously on your way.
Enjoy this building process. You’re making steady progress. If you keep moving like this, you’ll reach your goals soon.
And if you’re feeling a little dull because all you do is work, work and plan for more work, that’s okay. That’s what the energy is right now and you might as well go with it.
Creating stability is worth the effort. There’ll be plenty of time for fun soon enough.
Disturbed by fear-inducing superstitions surrounding things like Friday the 13th, black cats, broken mirrors, and the like, my very own black cat, Carl JK, suggested I share the following Clear Away The Fear Tarot spread.
Sometimes the things we’re afraid of are well worth being concerned about. Often though, we create fear from nothing.
The Clear Away The Fear spread is meant to explore areas in our life where false fears or superstitions might be holding us back from enjoying ourselves as fully as we can.
So take this Friday the 13th to try it out. Clear away your own fears, or at least look at them closely enough to make sure they’re worth your time.
Oh yes, and fear not the black cat. He brings good fortune.
Clear Away the Fear Tarot Spread
1. In what area of my life am I harboring superstitions or what might be irrational fears?
2. What about these fears have legitimacy?
3. What about these fears are creating a false state of panic?
4. What can I do to confront and deal with my legitimate concerns?
5. How might I replace the false fears with courage and positive action?
There’s been a run of repeat cards lately. We just had this Page a little over a week ago, but he’s back in time for the weekend …
Sweetness abounds when the page of cups is around. This is a great day to communicate emotions – enthusiastically and without censor, especially to those you love.
There’s a lightness in the air and the sense that something new could be starting. And it just might be.
It’s good to remember though, that there’s no need for you to commit to anything serious right now. It’s still the time of freshness and beginnings. Becoming heavy now would only dampen what’s still just growing.
They’ll be talking about readings, art, and practical Tarot skills.
And of course, with so many incredible deck designers and artists in one group, they’ll be sharing their thoughts on what it takes to make a deck, and how creating one can be a life-changing process.
The Omega Tarot Conference runs from Friday, July 27 through Sunday, July 29th.
But Tarot at the Omega Center doesn’t end there …
Mary K. Greer and Rachel Pollack will be carrying on through the following week, from July 29 through August 3rd with a workshop called Reading Tarot Cards With Magic & Wisdom.
Who better to teach a topic like that than Mary and Rachel?
Check out the Omega Center website to learn more about both events. They’re going to be amazing.
Are you having a hard time making a decision, maybe trouble moving forward? Are you blaming yourself and everybody else for your emotional problems?
It might be a little confusing right now but don’t give up. Try to pull yourself together and start making some choices.
Don’t waste your time worrying about what anyone else is doing. Concentrate instead on getting a grip on yourself.
What do you really want next? Think about it clearly and with as much focus as you can muster. Once you finally choose, it’s going to be a lot easier.
Wallowing in misery or hiding in whatever escape you feel most comfortable in won’t help for much longer. In fact, it’s likely to bring you down instead.
Pull up those boot straps and decide what’s next. The only real way to feel better is to start taking action. There’s lot’s to do, get going!
For those of you lucky enough to be in the area of Perth, Western Australia, specifically the City of Fremantle, you might want to stop by the Buratti Fine Arts gallery.
As I discovered while visiting one of my favourite occult art blogs, Phantasmaphile, the Windows to the Sacred show will be opening this coming Friday, July 13th.
The exhibition is showcasing esoteric art from various traditions including work derived through automatic drawing, digital technology, printmaking, sculpture, and painting.
Works of contemporary Australian artists will be hanging alongside those of international and historical artists, including two pieces by occult master and creator of the Thoth Tarot, Aleister Crowley.
For Crowley’s paintings alone I’d take a look. One is an auto-portrait he did in 1922 titled ‘The Sun,’ while the other is called ‘The Moon (Study for Tarot Card)’, also from 1922.
The show runs until August 22nd. If you’re in the area, get down to see it!!
