#19 – The Sun

What a good day!  Enjoy! After the long journey you’ve finally managed to get to the other side of the night.

There’s no need to be shy – express yourself and let everyone see you smile.

You have confidence now and boundaries no longer pen you in.  Creativity carries you forward as if in a dream.

Focus your imagination and you can manifest what you will.  Be open, free and alive.

Today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is Vanessa Tarot by Lynyrd Narciso, According to the Little White Book (LWB) that came with the deck, my copy was published back in 2006 by US Games (but it looks to still be available … and reasonably priced)

5 Points About This Deck

1. Size: Vanessa Tarot is compact, or some might say small, with the cards only 6 X 10 cm (2.3 X 3.9 “) … which is a lovely size for smaller hands – easy to hold and to shuffle, and you don’t need a lot of space to lay out a spread
2. Artwork: The art is sweet, sassy, chic (in a cartoony sort of way) and dare I say, ‘girly’. Yeah, it is girly, really, really girly .. and I love it! Bright cheery, and non-threatening, but not without a bite.
3. Woman-centric: Going along with the really, really girly aspect of Vanessa Tarot, like the last deck I reviewed (The Muse Tarot), there are very few males pictured in this deck … even the Kings are Ladies.
4. Tarot System: Vanessa Tarot pretty well follows the RWS/Golden Dawn Tarot structure, just with a modern and female twist. The medieval imagery is replaced by contemporary situations that are clear and evocative. It’s quite readable, but if you do need help with a card meaning, the LWB offers helpful descriptions of each.
5. Box: You might have noticed by now that I’ve got a bit of an illogical obsession with the boxes my Tarot decks come in … they shouldn’t matter, but they kind of do. Anyway, Vanessa Tarot comes in a delightful little purple metal tin that I think was the reason I bought it in the first place all those years ago. I stand by my choice.

You feel full up with all the love around you.  In fact, you might even be a little overwhelmed with how much you care and how loved you feel.

This is a happy time to be with your family or friends, or whoever it is that makes up your social community.

You’re probably nearing the end of an important emotional phase.  Taking the time now to recognize and be grateful for all you have will help prepare you for the beginning of the next stage of your journey.

Celebrate with your loved ones, remembering with joy and humour all the good and not so good days that brought you to where you are now.

The Moon in Aquarius, or High Priestess in the Star’s clothing, can sometimes be emotionally stressful. Hope may be in the air, but it’s a cautious hope.

Emotionally you feel like sharing, bubbling over with dreams for the future. But your mind keeps getting in the way, reminding you that dreams can sometimes be nightmares.

Try not to spend what could be a nice time double guessing yourself or listing off all the reasons things could go wrong. They might. But they probably won’t.

Be real, but not a wet blanket. Rather than smothering your dreams, direct them with intelligence.

#21 – The Universe

Dance and enjoy!  You deserve to celebrate after a long journey.  A phase in your life is coming to a close – it might be big, but it’s not scary.

This is a good day to reflect on what’s been happening in your life over the last long while.  Where were your successes and what would you rather leave behind?  How did all the little stories turn into a whole big narrative?

Review, laugh and maybe even cry, but don’t carry old burdens with you going forward.  Be free and open and willing to be vulnerable.  You’ve done what you can.  It’s time now to simply rejoice in your own little slice of the universe.  You’ll have plenty of time to plan your next step tomorrow.
