#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

The reckoning’s done and it’s finally time to dole out the rewards.  Have you done your fair share?  Are you ready to accept what’s due?

Success is coming to those who have done what they can to manifest their goals.  It may seem like manna from heaven but look again – it’s more likely compensation for a job well done.

And don’t forget to thank those who have been helping you. We’re never alone in either our successes or our failures.

Your home is more important now than the outside world. Start thinking how to make it more practical. You might not be ready to do the work just yet, but this is a great time to plan.

Emotionally, it’s a time of calm. Perfect for listening and reflecting rather than acting out in passion. Take your time. There’s no rush.

Study, organization, contemplation, solitude, emotional self-reflection. Don’t be afraid to be alone right now. There’s lot’s to do on your own.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit is like the Empress is wearing the Hermit’s clothing. She’s out in the snow, wearing the robes of a monk.

Venus in Virgo, or the Empress in the Hermit’s clothing is a good time to examine the parts of yourself you normally keep under wraps.

Take the opportunity to look carefully at the experiences you’ve been accumulating. Shift through your own inner shadows, and be unafraid to face whatever you find.

Compassion towards yourself and others will help heal both fears and sorrows, while introspection can provide creative insight you may not have thought possible.

And with all this seriousness, don’t forget to enjoy yourself. There’s as much to celebrate in the dark as there is in the light.

Ace of Wands

The flame has been ignited and there’s a new feeling floating around.  This is a day to let inspiration lead the way.

Throw out your old excuses and start something you really care about.  Passion and fire are what motivates the soul and it’s time to listen to yours.

You might not yet know what’s different but you know your old way of doing things is no longer possible.  A new spirit has been planted and you can probably feel the excitement beginning to build.

Whatever it is that moves you with enthusiasm should be your starting point.  Being true to your spirit isn’t being selfish.  It’s what makes you fully human.

Continuing with the theme of creativity (see the Creativity Spread from the other day), today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is The Sakki-Sakki Tarot by Monicka Clio Sakki. My copy was published in 2004 by Mpress.

5 Points About This Deck

1. Artwork: So sweet, adorable, and fun, but not at all sugary. In the Little White Book (LWB), Sakki says that “the artwork has been assembled from a collage of pre-existing drawings, icons, and ‘sensitive inks’”. (Had to look up sensitive inks just now … interesting.) The result is bright, diverse, amusing, colourful, and unique imagery. I like it a lot.
2. Heads: At least in the Minor Arcana, sometimes there are heads on the people, sometimes no heads. It’s not meant to be macabre … but rather allows you to fill in the human details with your own imagination.
3. Tarot Reading System: Though the images are unique, and tell their own readable story, the Sakki-Sakki Tarot is structured around the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot system. For additional clarity, the LWB includes astrological and kabalistic associations for each card, and a little description of what each means.
4. Extra Card: What makes the Sakki-Sakki Tarot especially aimed towards creativity is the inclusion of a 79th card in the deck … the Artist Card. Meant to be used as either a 23rd Major card, or a Significator, The Artist Card represents the Artist in all of us. It’s the part of us creating our own worlds, as well as artworks that attempt to express those worlds.
5. Small Run: The Sakki-Sakki Tarot was printed as a limited run, so it may not be easy to find. At the website, it says that it’s out of print, but maybe you can find it around. If you do, I’d seriously consider getting it. It’s delightful in every way.

Oh … and not a point about the deck itself, but if you go to the Sakki-Sakki website, you can pick a card for a free one-card automated reading. I pulled more than one.

4 of Wands

Gather and celebrate! It’s a day to enjoy what you’ve been working on.  The project might not yet be finished, but at least you’re on your way. Well done!  You have reason to smile.

Follow your passion and create from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how it will all turn out, just keep at it. The hard work’s been paying off, and you can take a moment to enjoy before heading on to the next step.

But don’t forget, you probably aren’t doing all the work yourself.  Share the glory or you’ll be hearing about it later.

The Moon moves into Leo today and stays there until Monday.

Translated into Tarot cards, this transit would be like the High Priestess is wearing Strength’s clothing. She’s thrown off her heavy cape and is spending some time outside with her lion.

The Moon in Leo, or High Priestess in Strength’s clothing is potentially a time of emotional power. Something beautiful that’s usually under wraps can finally be revealed.

The silence is broken. Quiet wisdom and passion can be united. During this time, it might be difficult to keep your ideas to yourself. But why should you?

Try finding an outlet for plans you’ve been sitting on? This is an opportunity to shine if you’re not over-burdened by self-consciousness.

It might feel a little uncomfortable at first, but letting your wilder side out right now could be positive. The sun isn’t always shining. Take advantage of it when it does.

Queen of Wands

Be yourself and be it fully. This is a day for you to shine. You know yourself and you’ve been true to your soul. It’s always worth it and now you’re remembering why.

As you harness your energy to create your will, do so with compassion. Remember what you suffered to get to your present state. Have compassion for those that are still struggling. They can use your inspiration, but remember your strength. Be careful not to burn them.
