Maybe you’ve heard of this phenomenon before, but it’s brand new to me – Space Cats.
According to Astronomical Image Enhancement engineer, Brant Widgeon, the celestial felines show up in many of the images sent back to earth from spacecraft roaming the galaxy.
Widgeon’s job is to remove them from the shot so that the glory of the universe isn’t obscured by floating kitties.
It’s amazing that this information has been kept under wraps for so long. But looking at the Star card a little closer, it seems that there’s a Space Cat right on the main star I’d never noticed before.
