#17 – The Star

Optimism and rejuvenation are the themes for the day.  Active generosity and compassion come easy so don’t hold back.  Give and you will receive.

Embrace the Universe’s capacity to provide you with what you need when you need it most.  That’s what miracles are and the Star is the goddess of miracles.

If things have been tough lately, now’s a time when you can finally lean back and take a bit of a break.  Surround yourself with as much beauty as you can.  It will help to replenish your soul.

Art, music, and the glory of the night sky are all worthy subjects of meditation.  Let them fill you with the inspiration you need for the next leg of your journey.

Stars Everywhere

#17 The Star from the Tarot of Marseille

On Christmas Eve, I posted a piece about the Star. Today I came across a magic trick that seems to turn everyone (or at least every card) into a Star.

Though card tricks aren’t typically my thing, I like the way this one plays out. The Tower, the Devil, and even Death are all miraculously transformed into the Star.

I don’t know if the magician in the video is aware of Tarot symbolism or not, but he chose his spread well.

The Star card represents renewed hope and healing after the darkest hours. And certainly Death, the Devil, and the Tower represent some of those dark times.

By changing them into the Star, it’s like he’s transforming darkness into light.

It’s a pretty nice message.

And not only does it manage to turn disaster, obsession, and grief into optimism and healing, it reminds us of something equally wonderful – that we’re all made of stardust.

The Star on Christmas Eve

#17 The Star

It’s Christmas Eve tonight, when according to the story, thousands of years ago an especially bright star shone in the heavens above a manger in Bethlehem.

Three wise men, otherwise described as astrologers, followed the star to the manger and to the little baby Jesus, a newborn star on earth.

I’ve always liked that the Christmas story includes three astrologers bearing magical gifts for a baby.

And as a Tarot reader now, the ‘star’ part of the story is even more significant.

In Tarot, the Star represents hope, dreams and optimism for the future.

It’s the light after the storm, faith after a fall, and the ability to love with universal compassion and deep empathy.

It’s a perfect symbol to hang above the renewed hope of the Nativity, and what an ideal guide for the wise among us.

Whether you’re celebrating Christmas or not, I wish everyone the spirit of the Star tonight.

Shine bright and be love!

Dare To Wish Upon A Star

I’ve been giving ‘wishing’ some thought lately and it seems to me that wishes aren’t taken as seriously as they should be. So often, they’re dismissed as nothing more than delusional fantasies. And sometimes that’s just what they are.

But more often than not, wishes are really the seeds of intention. And intentions are the first step to the manifestation of anything. Looking at it this way, wishes are really how we create our world.

In the Tarot, directed intention is the Magician willing something new out of the ether, creating the world afresh. He’s the master of the Aces, pointing to the potential in every area of our lives. What he wishes becomes his will. What he wills becomes his world.

But wishing also seems to fall under the domain of the Star. She’s hope and optimism after a time of crisis. She helps us to refill, renew and dream of a beautiful future.

The Star encourages us to imagine beyond the world we already inhabit. With her on side, all things are possible. You just need faith, love and an openness to receive. Tell her your wishes, she wants to make them real.

“To Wish Upon a Star” – I’ve always liked that phrase. And it makes a lot of sense now.

To ‘wish’ is to be the Magician daring to look at the future, projecting into the universe our hopes, fears and intentions. And the ‘star’ is of course the Star. The one receiving the Magician’s prayers. She is the environment in which our dreams come true.

Miracles are made when the Magician and the Star come together. Dare to make one happen yourself.
