Theresa Pridemore from Portland, Oregon is making a fabulous new deck dedicated to her beloved city.
The Portland Tarot is a digital photo collage deck, focusing on the people, places and quirks of Portland.
As you can see by the cards though, you don’t have to know anything about Portland to enjoy this deck.
The images tell their own story, and as Pridemore herself says it, they’re “subversive, whimsical and dangerously charming.”
Visit her Kickstarter page to learn more about the project. You might even want to donate and get a deck for yourself.

It’s been a while since I last posted a card from the deck Ivan Minsloff and I have been working on, so for your viewing pleasure today, I thought I’d post The Lovers.
It’s simple and to the point – the opposites are joined together as one.

Take a look at the video below by Anton Shlyonkin from Moscow. In it he creates the Lovers card from his Major Arcana deck, Type Tarot.
Shlyonkin set himself a challenge to depict the essence of each of the 22 cards solely through the use of type.
I think it’s a great idea, and I love that he recorded the process.
You can see all of the cards at his page.
And if you want to see videos of Justice and the Chariot card being made, visit Shlyonkin at Anton-vsh on Vimeo.

Take a look at this … a Tarot cookbook!
Debbie Chapnick, creator of the Tarot Tip Sheet and owner of Datura Press, is putting together a cookbook based on the 78 cards of Tarot’s Major Arcana.
Though she’s been reading cards for over 25 years and cooking all of her life, Chapnick says that it was a dream that first prompted her to write the Journey of the Food.
One night, she heard a voice say “the 8 of Swords … that’s a Mississippi Mud Cake” over and over and when she woke up in the morning she knew that she was going to write a cookbook.
And not only did she continue dreaming about recipes and cards, eventually she started dreaming about cards themselves and came up with 78 cards to accompany her 78 (+1 for the dog) recipes.
You can learn more about the project at Chapnick’s IndieGoGo Project page, and maybe even get a copy of the deck and book for yourself.

Though it’s not exactly a Tarot deck, the Lufthansa City Center Tarot is apparently a fantastic little sales generator.
The video below, posted by David Hofmann, explains how an oracle deck was used by the Lufthansa City Center Travel Agency to let fate help their customers choose the perfect holiday destination.

Jenny Kruch has put together a very fun looking collage deck called the Frau Grand Duchess Tarot.
Though they move pretty fast, you can see the cards in the video below.
Kruch says she’s going create a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to print the deck. I hope she does. I’ll be watching out for it.
UPDATE: The Frau Grand Duchess Kickstarter Campaign is live!

Here’s another Kickstarter Tarot project … the Tamaraw Tarot by Juan Vincent.
You can see the cards themselves in the video below. They’re clear and simple and all backed in black.
Vincent says the colouring is meant especially for candle lit readings. It allows the images and their messages to pop to the fore, while the backgrounds fade nicely into the dark.
If you’d like to learn more, or to get a copy of the deck for yourself, visit the Tamaraw Tarot project page.

Here’s another sneak peek at one of the cards from the deck Ivan Minsloff and I are working on.
It’s Temperance. Or in this particular deck … a beautifully balanced Chemist.
