It’s been up since the end of January, but I just came across this NYC Tarot art show the other day while visiting the fabulous Phantasmaphile website.
Curated by Aunia Kahn, the show is called Tarot Under Oath and features pieces by 22 artists, each inspired by one of the 22 cards in the Major Arcana.
Tarot Under Oath hangs until March 1st at Last Rites Gallery in New York City, but if you can’t get there in person, visit their website to see all the images.
A book with artwork and artist statements will be available at the show. I wish there was a deck too.

The Empress
If you’re in the Montreal area, or heading to it, you might want to check out this art show.
Le Tarot de Montréal is an exhibition inspired by the Tarot de Marseille. Twenty-three artists participated, each creating a work on paper depicting their view of a specific symbol from the Tarot card given to them.
The artists and cards were paired based on the analogies and associations in the cards and the artistic approach of each particular artist.
The show opens tonight and runs to August 18, Mondays through Fridays, at the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre in Dorval, Québec.
It’s being presented by the Centre d’art et de diffusion Clark in collaboration with the Conseil des Arts de Montréal en Tournée.

Take a look at this TAROT (group show) at the Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome, Italy.
Twenty contemporary artists were asked to choose a card from the Major Arcana and make it their own. The results are gorgeous.
The show runs until May 18th. If you’re in Rome, go see it.

The hive Tarot 2
Here’s a show I’d like to see!
The Hive Gallery and Studios in Los Angeles is presenting The Hive Tarot 2, curated by Nathan Cartwright.
Over 50 artists have taken part in this Tarot inspired show, each one using a particular card as their theme. It looks fantastic!
The show’s running through January 29th.
