Bay Area Tarot Symposium 2012 – august 27-28

May 10th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

In case you’re making travel plans for the summer and haven’t yet decided where to go, may I suggest San Francisco during the last week of August.

Not only will you get to spend some time in one of the most beautiful cities in the US, you’ll be there in time for the 21st annual Bay Area Tarot Symposium, aka BATS.

Produced by the fabulous Thalassa in association with the Daughters of Divination, BATS is the oldest running Tarot conference in the world.

Having been there myself the last couple of years, I understand why it keeps going strong. It’s just great. I can’t wait to get back!

This years’ line-up hasn’t yet been announced, but pre-registration is open and there’s early-bird specials for those who already know they want to attend.

The conference will be held August 27 and 28th at the Golden Gateway Holiday Inn.

Watch the BATS website for updates. This year is going to be especially fun!

It’s coming up fast so you better book your ticket soon!

Created by Wald and Ruth Ann Amberstone, the Readers Studio 2012, aka RS12, is the largest gathering of Tarot enthusiasts in North America, maybe anywhere, and it’s celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary.

This year’s conference features Master Classes with Shawn Nacol, James Wanless, and Toronto’s own James Wells.

There’ll be Breakfast Roundtables with Nancy Antenucci and Marcia McCord. Or you can start the day with a Silent Group Meditation led by Carolyn Cushing.

Alongside the main event will be a Merchant Faire as well as a Celebrity Psychic Fair.

You can sign up for Tarot Study Classes, or get there a day early and take part in the pre-conference Master Class taught by the Amberstones themselves.

It really is an incredible event, and an opportunity to meet and mingle with Tarot lovers from all over the world. Not to mention, spend some time in New York City.

The conference runs from April 27th through the 29th, with the pre-conference Master Class on the 26th.

Take a look at the video below by Chris Deleo to see what was up at last year’s conference.

Riviera Tarot Conference 2011 – Torquay, Devon, UK – Oct 29

Torquay Harbour 2006 by Averoxus from Wikipedia

Torquay Harbour

I just posted about the UK Tarot Conference in London coming up in a couple of weeks. Here’s another UK conference you might want to check out, this time in the south of England.

The very fist Riviera Tarot Conference will be held in Torquay, on Saturday, October 29th. Appropriately, it’s dedicated to the first card in the Tarot – the Fool.

The one-day conference is going to be busy, starting early with astrologer and author of over 120 books, Sasha Fenton talking Tarot and astrology.

The second keynote address will be with Sara Delphi, astrologer, author, and BBC radio host exploring psychic ability and the Tarot.

After a lunch serenaded by Luc Walpot and his harp, there’ll be a number of workshops to choose from led by Louise Page, Alison Theaker, and Sara Delphi.

In addition to the seminars, delegates can get readings, shop for cards and books, and take part in the Charity Auction.

It sounds like a great day. And the area in and around Torquay, birthplace of Agatha Christie, looks amazing.
