This video, from the School of Life, reminds us that confidence isn’t about finding some plateau of perfection where we can sit forever, dignified and unmockable. Rather, it’s a willingness to leap into the unknown, even with the knowledge that we might end up landing on our butts.
Don’t fear being a Fool! Embrace the opportunity to try something new, even if we mess up. There’s no way of knowing what wonderful places our blunders might lead us.

Here’s another interesting School of Life video. This one focuses on Philosophic Meditation. It’s a technique meant to tease out and make sense of all the scrambled thoughts we lug around, a ‘mental audit’ so to speak.
Take a look and see if it’s something you might want to try. And if you’re a Tarot reader, you might want to use your cards to ask some of the questions raised in the video.
It’s a card that points to a feeling of frustration at not being ‘good’ enough. It can describe the fear that while others succeed, we, on the other hand, are nothing more than failures, or that, at the very most, pale copies of those who are great.
Though it’s true that we’ll often find that we’re not as ‘good’ as other people might be at something, and that we haven’t achieved the notoriety or kudos that someone else in our field may have, not being the best at something is certainly not a good enough reason for not continuing to work at it, especially if it’s something we really like doing.
An important piece of advice triggered by the appearance of the 7 of Pentacles is to persevere, to keep going and not give up simply because it’s not always easy. If you keep at it, you’re likely to be quite satisfied with the results, something you definitely won’t be if you just give up.
And that seems to be what the School of Life is saying too. Take a look …
The School of Life video below called Philosophical Meditation is a great guide to clearing some of the unconscious clutter that can accumulate in our minds. In it they suggest we find 20 minutes or so every few days to sit with a pen, a notebook, and our thoughts, and ask some basic questions.
1. What am I currently upset about?
2. What am I currently anxious about?
3. What am I currently curious or excited about?
These are all great questions, and well worth exploring. Jot down your thoughts as you consider each one, and if you have a Tarot deck nearby, you might even want to draw a card or two as well.
Take a look at the video, and if you’re interested in getting deeper, download the School of Life’s written guide to help further focus your thoughts.
Following up on the galactic theme from Monday’s post, here’s a nice little video from The School of Life reminding us why it’s so important to keep the big perspective in mind as we face our day to day lives.
They make a lot of sense to me. If we actively tried to develop these qualities, not only would we likely be better individuals, the world in general would likely be a happier place.
I’ve listed the ten virtues below, and teamed each up with a Tarot card I think represents a similar concept. Take a look at the video, and my list to see what you think.
And if you think there’s a different Tarot card that’s more appropriate to the idea being described than the one I chose, I’d love to hear what you have to say!
