6 of Wands

Victory is finally at hand. You’ve won the game and everyone’s cheering. It wasn’t always easy so the win is that much sweeter.

Have a good time and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard to master.

Your good fortune probably has a lot to do with staying true to your heart. Keep it up.

This isn’t an unexpected gift from the skies, it’s acknowledgement for doing something special.

Moon in Cancer – High Priestess Dressed as the Charioteer

The High Priestess dressed as the Chariot

The Moon moves into Cancer today, and stays there until Wednesday.

Looking at this transit through the lens of the Tarot, you might describe it as the High Priestess dressed in the clothing of the Charioteer. She’s left the safety of her pillars and veil, and has hit the road.

The Moon in Cancer, or the High Priestess dressed as the Charioteer, can be a powerful time of comfortable change and emotional resilience.

Knowledge gathered in silence has coalesced and it’s time to share without fear of being hurt.

Emotional loyalty, intuitive direction and strength of character can give you the resolve to go forward. Even into the unknown.

Try not to coddle yourself. You can only win if you have the courage to play to the end.

Tarot Card of the Day - Queen of Swords by Georgianna

Monday, August 18, 2025
Queen of Swords

The truth is an important commodity right now.  Getting through the fog and cutting out that which no longer works is a priority.

You might be feeling a little hardcore, a little less sympathetic to sob stories and other tales of woe than usual.  That’s all right.  Sometimes it’s more important to be clear than to be sweet.

Get the job done and do it with the determination, diligence and discernment that you expect from others.

Keep in mind though that the bigger picture includes compassion.  You need not be cruel or mean to be truthful and serious.

Not everyone is as tough-skinned as you are right now, so be aware of the potential effect your words might have.

The Pulp Tarot – a deck review

Today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection is The Pulp Tarot by Todd Alcott, published by The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild in 2023.

The Pulp Tarot by Todd Alcott

5 Points About This Deck

  1. Box: The box looks like a well-worn paperback and opens from the top – I think it’s fabulous.
  2. Theme: Pulp illustration is the theme – bold, dramatic, and eye-catching, with a fun (yet non-nostalgic) 50’s feel. It really appeals to me
  3. Readability: if you’re comfortable with the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, you’ll have no problem with The Pulp Tarot. Though the images actively pay homage to the RWS, this deck definitely stands on its own with fabulous stories to tell in each card.
  4. Gender: Alcott specifically mentions in the instruction guide that whether there’s men or women pictured in the images, they’re meant to relate to all of us. It’s fun to see though, how this deck breaks a little with tradition and includes some women in roles that are usually pictured as men … some examples – The Fool, The Chariot, the person in the 9 of Cups and the 9 of Wands, and more.
  5. Card Design: Alcott describes the images as basically collages. He used multiple images to create each card, but manipulated them in photoshop to make them look as if the whole card was drawn by one artist.

I really like The Pulp Tarot. It’s kind of a kitschy theme, but don’t let that give you the impression it’s not serious. It tells a Tarot tale with the best of them.

One of the first things I did when I opened this deck was to ask it, “What do you like to talk about most?”

I pulled three cards and got The Tower, the Page of Cups, and the 5 of Pentacles.

My take on that is that it likes talking about big shocks, new love, and financial questions. I’ll keep that in mind.

Tarot Card of the Day The Lovers by Georgianna

Sunday, August 17, 2025
#6 – The Lovers

Are there choices to be made?  Decisions you’ve put off for another time?  Well this is the time.  The Lovers card asks us to finally make up our minds – either commit or get out now.

On a personal level, the Lovers reminds us to balance the opposites within ourselves.  Are your ying and yang in sync?  Does your conscious experience compliment your unconscious dream state or do they seem at war?  Are you living a life that satisfies your soul?

Heavy questions, but this is a great day to think about them.  In fact, you might find it difficult not to.

This is a serious commitment you’re thinking about.  To help you make up your mind, ask yourself which direction brings you closer to your soul’s call. You probably already know the answer.

Moon in Gemini – High Priestess Dressed as the Lovers’ Angel

Moon in Gemini - high priestess as the lovers' angel

The Moon moves into Gemini today and will stay there until Monday.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.

The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.

But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.

Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.

Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.

Tarot Card of the Day, #7 The Chariot by Georgianna

Saturday, August 16, 2025
#7 – The Chariot

Today you’ll likely see some movement. The Chariot is the card of change, the card that takes you places.  Having finally determined the direction you’d like to go, now is the time to get cracking and go there.

Changing jobs, moving house or some sort of travel are the larger manifestations of the Chariot energy.  Sometimes though, it might bring no more than a strong desire to redecorate your living room or go for a long drive.

However it plays out, try not to give up if the going gets a little tough. More often then not, just sticking it out and playing for real is all it takes to ensure victory.  You’ve come this far already, why would you give up now?

Tarot Card of the Day 10 of Disks by Georgianna, 10 of Pentacles

10 of Disks

You may have more physical prosperity than you thought.  Look around and see the support that’s there.

It’s likely that the money or physical support or whatever it is you need is at hand and that those who said they were behind you really are.

Trust your family and loved ones, they really do have your back and were never going to let you fall.

Open yourself to abundance and you might be surprised at how much is there for you.

And when you prosper, don’t forget to be generous.  No one ever does it all on their own (even when we think we do).  We all need each other, and it’s through sharing that we discover our true wealth.

Moon in Taurus – High Priestess in the Hierophant’s Clothing

The High Priestess dressed as the Hierophant

The Moon moved into Taurus today and stays there until Saturday.

If you look at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Hierophant. She’s sitting before two acolytes and sharing the secrets she usually guards.

The Moon in Taurus, or High Priestess in the Hierophant’s clothes, is a time of spiritual and emotional certitude.

There’s a sense that the truth can be explained, understood and incorporated into daily life. Rules can and should be followed.

Instead of trying to force others to recognize what you know to be certain, try using this time to simply share your emotional, intellectual and spiritual perceptions.

Celebrate the diversity of spirit in our world, while figuring out for yourself what rules, spiritual or otherwise, work best for you.
