The Moon moves into Gemini today and will stay there until Thursday.

From a Tarot perspective, this transit would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Lovers’ Angel. She floats above the naked couple, blessing their sacred union.

The Moon in Gemini, or High Priestess dressed as the Lovers’ angel, can be an emotionally confusing time, one where internal conflicts arise in order to be reconciled.

But it can also be a time of clarity, honest communication and almost intuitive understanding about yourself and those around you.

Quiet faith teams up with commitment and the Angels approve of the whole thing.

Try to keep your emotions in line with your reason. Going too far either way could disturb a really nice balance.

Gather and celebrate! It’s a day to enjoy what you’ve been working on.  The project might not yet be finished, but at least you’re on your way. Well done!  You have reason to smile.

Follow your passion and create from the heart. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how it will all turn out, just keep at it. The hard work’s been paying off, and you can take a moment to enjoy before heading on to the next step.

But don’t forget, you probably aren’t doing all the work yourself.  Share the glory or you’ll be hearing about it later.

Miss Cleo's Tarot Power Deck

Following up on my post about, Call Me Miss Cleo, for today’s pull from Georgie’s Magic Card Collection, we’ll look at Miss Cleo’s Tarot Power Deck. It was published back in 2001 by Radar Communications Inc.

5 Points About This Deck

  1. Miss Cleo: Despite her name and picture being on the box, Miss Cleo (or Youree Dell Harris) had nothing to do with making this deck. It’s possible, of course, that she used it to read with, but it was designed and created by J.F. Lambert and Seth Stevens. There’s an introduction in the LWB that shows Miss Cleo’s signature at the bottom, but I don’t know …
  2. The Box: Though a box wouldn’t likely sway me for or against a Tarot deck, there are boxes that are good enough (regular tuck boxes), and then there are ones that I like. The Miss Cleo deck comes in the type that I like – a hardy two piecer that opens by lifting the top off. And for some childish reason, I really like the red tag on the front that says “As Seen On TV’.
  3. Artwork: The deck artwork follows a kind of ancient Egyptian motif, I guess to go along with the myth that Tarot originated in Egypt. It’s bright and simple, a little cartoony, with very well cut workers, kings, queens, gods, and goddesses. I actually quite like it.
  4. Arcanas/Readability: The Major Arcana looks to follow the RWS sequencing and style, while the Minor Arcana switches things up a bit. The suits are Staffs, Cups, Swords, and Coins, and though they follow a basic RWS-type model, there are some novel takes on the images. For me at least, I find this deck quite easy to read. The images are clear and straightforward in their storytelling. But, if you’re in doubt, the instruction book that comes with the deck is quite helpful.
  5. Extra Cards: Unlike most decks, there are two extra cards included with 1-900 and 1-800 numbers on them … I guess that’s in case you can’t figure out what your reading means and want some help? I didn’t try the numbers, and am not recommending that anyone else does.

Despite my feelings surrounding the Psychic Readers Network, and the questionable part Miss Cleo herself played in the whole saga, I actually like the Miss Cleo’s Tarot Power Deck. I got mine on eBay about 15 years ago and notice that there still seems to be a lot of inexpensive used ones around. If you see one, you might want to give it a try.

The truth is an important commodity right now.  Getting through the fog and cutting out that which no longer works is a priority.

You might be feeling a little hardcore, a little less sympathetic to sob stories and other tales of woe than usual.  That’s all right.  Sometimes it’s more important to be clear than to be sweet.

Get the job done and do it with the determination, diligence and discernment that you expect from others.

Keep in mind though that the bigger picture includes compassion.  You need not be cruel or mean to be truthful and serious.

Not everyone is as tough-skinned as you are right now, so be aware of the potential effect your words might have.

If you look at this transit through the eyes of the Tarot, it would be like the High Priestess is dressed as the Hierophant. She’s sitting before two acolytes and sharing the secrets she usually guards.

The Moon in Taurus, or High Priestess in the Hierophant’s clothes, is a time of spiritual and emotional certitude.

There’s a sense that the truth can be explained, understood and incorporated into daily life. Rules can and should be followed.

Instead of trying to force others to recognize what you know to be certain, try using this time to simply share your emotional, intellectual and spiritual perceptions.

Celebrate the diversity of spirit in our world, while figuring out for yourself what rules, spiritual or otherwise, work best for you.

Name your goal and start listing the steps you need to get there. Especially important is that first step. It can be big or small – just take it! You’re at the very beginning right now, don’t let the long journey ahead dissuade you from going forward.

You can’t go back, so what the heck? Focus on what it is you want to achieve and you can make anything happen.

Beware though, don’t try fooling yourself or others, there’s no need for deception. It will only lead you down the wrong road right from the start. Stay true to your plan and keep yourself focused.

You can do what you need to without resorting to trickery or lies. It’ll work out much better in the long run if you stick to the truth.

Through the eyes of the Tarot, this transit is like the Magician is wearing the Hermit’s clothes. He’s left his garden and is trekking through the snow.

Mercury in Virgo, or the Magician wearing the Hermit’s clothes, is a time of intense internal clarity. You know what you know, and can see it with fresh eyes.

It’s a good time to clear out stale old perspectives. Shine light on your inner wisdom and don’t be afraid to let others know what you’ve found.

There’s a tension now between the old and the new. Use it to dig through past ideas and experiences. Not for nostalgia’s sake, but in order to figure out what’s worthy enough to revitalize, and what might as well be discarded.
